The Worst Lines I've Ever Written

My new book made it to the final round of the Goodreads Choice Awards and I always feel awkward asking y'all to vote for such things--unless I can make it fun. So in honor of FUN my partner and I made a BAD READS CHOICE AWARDS video in which we unpack the most ridiculous lines I have written over the years. Turns out--there are a lot of them, and we had a blast exploring what compelled me to write things like,"Everyone wants straight As. Give me some gay As to work for."

Such a good video! Also, the "loose as a cannon" is one of my favorites from the album! I always took it as loving the unpredictability of a person, their nature to not listen to others and trust in themselves, a "loose cannon", if you will. 😁

OMG, ran across this again a year plus later and I'm already laughing that Meg is going to edit. Sheesh, Meg is good, and has no problem saying cut this here when we love the rest. But ouch, been there done that and You are partners. This is killing me laughing. Loose as a cannon may be aged out on Meg. Loose cannon is an old term and Meg may just not be well versed enough in history to understand that. Ok the baby vagina rad line, I remember the poem and the person. It's just awkward, and love you Andrea, but you're awkward at times. And it fits. Please do not stop being awkward. Megan, hugs, loves, and thank you for all the best poems I've ever written coming out of your workshops. And ask your Dad about the term loose cannon.
