I bought several extra toilet brushes for $1. I kept one aside, still very clean, and use it for my disposal. It gets gross as you know. Works like a charm. I wrote kitchen on the handle. I think you mentioned this in one of your hacks videos.

Great tip about the toothbrush - and to make it even more versatile - you can go to your local home hardware box store and buy a small-diameter length of PVC pipe that the toothbrush handle with fit tightly inside of. Then you can cut a few different lengths that will allow you to reach various hard-to-reach places with the toothbrush. One thing I use mine for is to reach inside and clean my large birdcage (without the birds getting out), before hosing it off.

Very recently my daughter bought used, upholstered dining room chairs. They are beautiful but the seats are stained. The stains appear to be from food, tea/water, dirty feet, etc. the fabric seems to be a cream colored cotton blend and are nicely padded and not ripped. We’ve been cleaning the wooden backs and legs. Can you recommend something that will clean these stains without soaking the seats? Love all your hints!

Cleaning brushes are cheaper on Temu. For cleaning under the microwave I use two dish drying mats. I take out the the one underneath the microwave to wash on the weekend with the laundry. I use the second mat to take the place of the one being laundry. A quick wipe before placing the mat under the microwave. This cuts cleaning a lot. I keep my microwave and my toaster on a baker's rack. The mat catches the toast crumbs too.

I took my vent covers off to clean them they were so clean when I finished but unfortunately the builder didn't put 4 of them up appropriately and my husband had to put wood inside the vent so he was able to screw the vent cover back on. What a pain and very disheartening! Be careful if you decide to remove your vent covers.

I'm sorry about that. It's frustrating and we've had our own issues with head scratching moments. The one my husband doesn't like is when they use the tiniest screws for door hinges.
