New Routines & A Disappearing Rabbit ║ Hang Out with This Homeschool Mom of 8 │ School Week 18

This week we get a BIG snowstorm followed by a little snowstorm which covers up any tracks that our missing bunny might have made. (We still haven't found him.) Aside from that sadness, we had a fun week. Some of the kids had a sleepover at Grandma Kitty's house and the little girls went with me to visit Grandma Fern. There was an community emergency false alarm. (Apparently someone pushed a button they shouldn't have.) We made scrapbook pages out of the paintings that Chrissy from Austria sent to us. I made a new tablecloth for Valentine's Day, sop for baby shampoo, and inventoried all of my birth and baby supplies. I also made a new, more fun version of our bedtime routine. (It's available for sale on my blog.) The kids love it and it has helped us be more consistent with our bedtime routine. We had our live stream dinner this week, Judah got the new headphones and mouse he ordered with his Christmas money and we opened several packages from our KZbin friends. The last day of this week was Valentine's Day. We have a separate vlog of our Valentine's Day activities.
We homeschool using ACE curriculum. Our kids are 16, 14, 12, 10, 7, 5, 4 and 2. We're expecting a baby in April.

When my Grandpa Kenny died (Grandma Fern's husband) I spent a lot of time thinking about why he was so special to so many people. I realized it was because he truly delighted in others and made people feel like what they said and did was special. It inspired me to take the time to give that gift to my own kids the best I can.

Andrea Mills I had a Grandma Kenny and he was one of the best people in my life and he had the same spirit. He died a month before Kennedy was born which is why her name was Kennedy after him. (She was going to be Gabriella) He always listened and made us feel special, valuable and cared for. I love that you have one of those special people too... neat!!!

I think what I love about watching your family is I am always entertained,I love your table is central to home and alot goes on around it,I am quite new here and I am going over older vlogs ,I am very impressed with your organization skills every nook and crannie of the house is used,I'm in small 2 bed flat myself and my hubby and I was saying to him how you make good use of all the space you have,people have said the children need own rooms but since I have watched their bedrooms are used for sleeping in and that's what bedrooms are for,to many children have own room and they spend to much time on their own with television,computer and phone,your activities go on outside of rooms,and the kids get quiet time if they need it,Andrea your skills as a mom and everything you do you are an amazing person we could all learn from,I love the way you are as a family,I'm past rearing children as I'm nearly 58 with ill health and hubby is 62 this year,I have 3 children in late 30s,I really enjoy watching your family I smile and laugh at some of the boys they are funny full of humour,Hannah when born couldn't be born into any better family,I've not watched this vlog but I look forward to later,and I love the home school you are such a patient mom,such a beautiful family and dad is awesome to nearly forgot,xx🤗🤗

You certainly get more snow than we do, here in west Wales! I can't get over how well Soloman is reading out aloud now - he sounded so confident, and he seems much more grown up all of a sudden, doesn't he? Mind you, so does Claudia, too - she looked sooo cute standing in the heart at the library :) Sophia is still as cute as a button, too - kids grow up so quickly nowadays! :) I love seeing how well your children play so sweetly together, but I laughed out loud when Asher was pouting over not finishing school first for a change - good on you, Judah! Lol It was lovely hearing Justus play on the piano - Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was the first thing I learned to play :) I love it when you visit Grandma Fern - she reminds me so much of my own Grandma, who has been gone for far too many years now - I love it when she tells you the history of where you live, or your family - it's so interesting to listen to her :) I love that you have different tablecloths for each special occasion of the year - we don't tend to use them as much as we used to nowadays, so it's nice to see it being used elsewhere :) It's fun seeing you all opening up parcels together, and your reactions to the sweets and chocolate we have here, in the UK - I'm hoping to send you all a parcel of my own one day! :) I do hope there's better news about Snowball soon - I have visions of him going on a great adventure, but managing to come back home when he's had enough of the snow! :/

Sophia encouraging Claudia to give Grandma Fern a hug is soooooo precious. I have a niece who's 14 months older than her twin brothers. When the boys were born I lived far away and they didn't get to know me very well at first so they were shy toward me. My niece didn't know me all THAT well either, but she did exactly the same thing as Sophia. She'd climb on my lap and say, "See, boys? She's nice! Come hug her! Don't be scared." They're all in their early 20s now so this brought back lots of sweet memories. Thanks for including it. :-)

That’s so nice that grandma Kitty keeps several of them at the same time. I have three grandkids ages 5,3 and 1 1/2 and it’s challenging to keep all three at the same time. You’re doing a great job with your children. I love watching your videos.

Hi Andrea...love the joy on the kids faces when they get the wonderful gifts from others..I would like to know if you could tell me what younger Thomas likes..I know he is into Magic, but what are some other interests...like what foods (chips, candies, etc.)..I see a lot of gifts for the younger kids but it seems he is sometimes left out...I have a son who's personally is similar and he would love to connect with him

Thomas likes gummy candies a lot. He also loves drinking chocolate milk, so maybe some chocolate syrup? His favorite chips are Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips. He like fantasy novels and mythology and, of course, anything Magic the Gathering. I'm sure he'd enjoy getting any mail, though, even a postcard!

Okay, that video talks about filling out the character form. In this ^^^ video you are counting votes. Do you use both? The voting chips look a little easier to implement (one of our kids is only 5). I was wondering if you have a video that explains the chips in the big test tubes? Or maybe a particular vlog video that shows the start of the week before the voting takes place? I am really wanting to implement something like this!

I think I've fallen at least once with each pregnancy. I slipped on the ice and landed on my belly when I was pregnant with Thomas. I fell down the porch steps carrying a crockpot of food when I was pregnant with Asher. (I kept the crockpot upright, but the lid slipped off and broke.) I ended up wearing one of those boot things when I was pregnant with Eden because I fell down the stairs and had a hairline fracture in my ankle. I broke my baby toe falling down the stairs with a basket of laundry when I was pregnant with Solomon. Long story short, it happens sometimes!

I've put in a couple of thousand hours on my channel and, no, I've never done it for monetary gain. I spend the equivalent of a part time job each week doing this to be a friend and to offer help to others. I've said that I don't feel good about the type of relationship I'd be creating with advertisers rather than our KZbin friends if I put ads on my videos, so I choose not to. I've also said I'm not opposed to making money, it just needs to be in a way I feel good about. (Obviously we all do some things for monetary gain or we wouldn't be able to feed our families!) Since so many of you have asked for a way to offer financial support, I decided to add a store to my blog. I'm offering a couple of things for sale that people can buy if they have a use for them. (I offer many _more_ things for free on my blog.) I felt like it was a good compromise of giving those who have been asking for a way to help us be able to do that while doing it in a way that I feel good about. It's completely voluntary for someone to choose to buy or not buy something that they have a need for. I certainly wouldn't think anyone would feel obligated to buy something from me, nor to send us a gift in the mail, unless it _they_ felt good about it. I appreciate your friendship and thank you and all of our KZbin friends for caring about us.
