The MIDDLE ATLAS: Morocco's Largest Souk & Monkey Encounters

Azrou, means ‘rock’ in the Amazigh language, and although only 89 kilometers south of Fes, it feels like a different world. The town is surrounded by rolling hills populated by pine and cedar forests, open meadows, and wildflowers. What was intended as a one-night stop on our way south, turned into a week. We explored the nearby forest to see the Barbary Macaque apes in their natural habitat, visited the town of Azrou, and experienced the massive weekly souk of Azrou.

That was awesome guys. What a lovely couple from Korea, I love their outlook on life. That Cedar forest was stunning and what lovely walks there are there. I'm just so glad that those monkeys didn't kidnap Lisa, run Lisa, run ! ;-) That market was amazing, it was like going back in time to thousands of years ago. Although, I'm not sure that they carried their newly purchased sheep back home in the family 7 seater in those days. I would encourage you to keep those short inclusions with Andre doing his magic in the kitchen. He can turn what looks like very simple ingredients into yummy looking meals. My wife asked me who bought those baby Brussels sprouts, yep, I had fried bacon and Brussels sprouts for Brekkie last week. Now to find some fennel.... Stay safe and keep those videos coming.

The monkeys situation is very sad, the ones that live by the road and get fed by local and foreign tourists live 10years less than the ones deep in the forest (also careful of does, if bodered may get agressive )

Hi Andy. In our case Morocco was already covered as part of our greencard. (3rd party only though). You either have to make an arrangement with your insurance company or purchase insurance at the port of entry. In the case of the latter it will also only be 3rd party cover.

you can get wine in Morocco, but it's a bit more expensive. they have wineries and vineyards that date back to roman times
