From your personal experience, would you recommend the C189 or C138 with or without optical flow?

The C138 needs calm conditions, the C189 can fly in light wind and the flight time is longer on the C189. It depends on what you like personally, it's best to own both :)

the blades are flat it has both collective and cyclic edit: yeah at 3:32 you can see the blades move all together (same pitch) = collective

Ugly paint scheme in scale with rhis late release. It doesn't do justice to the MD500. I would have loved a Fresno County Sheriff helicopter 😢 But a complicated paint scheme means more production cost. I'll stay with my fictitious USCG version.
