Cried like a baby at the funeral of 6 of my fallen comrades in Falklands war. This was played and made me feel proud to be a Scotsman. We were in our full Highland dress at the war cemetery in the Falklands. Sent a shiver down my spine

I missed the Falklands. I left the Royal Marines in 1980 after serving 10yrs between 42 and 45 Cmdo. I was gutted I missed it BUT, I shed a few tears when watching the fleet leave for the South Atlantic and I cried buckets when I heard that 4 of my oppo's lost their lives, even as I write this I am shedding tears.

My mom, died of Cancer today. She was 58. I have this and a few other songs I’ve been playing on repeat but this one sort of sets the tone for the mood today. I as a Police Officer hear the pipes and drums at funerals gets me sappy but this brings me a sense my momma is at peace, resting eternally. For that I am also at peace. Smiling while typing this with lots of tears knowing my mom would also very much approve of this. Thank you for this beautiful song.

Depending on where you are in the world, the majority of stadiums cater for all sorts of disabled people. You just need to book your ticket maybe separately with the booking team on the phone. My friend in a wheelchair could do this in London , but in Maastricht I saw some people on special stretchers too. Andre and team are very considerate so worth a try.

Following the church service we then marched down the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, which was packed; tourists, locals, I looked to my right and saw the All Blacks squad (they were there to play Scotland that weekend) the whole mile was rammed... just incredible. My grandfather died on March 18th, and he requested this piece for his funeral. I’d never heard it before, but my word, it’s the most fantastic piece of music. Andre Rieu has done an excellent job. I miss him everyday, but I always have this to turn to. He’s no longer with us, but I have him in my heart… I’m struggling, but I have good and bad days. I just wish I’d told him so much more about how he’d shaped my upbringing. Rest in peace, I hope you’re proud of me.

Very moving to hear a piper playing this wonderful music in the Scottish Parliament just now after King Charles III addressed Parliament. Well done Scotland for your dignified and respectful tributes to our late Queen Elizabeth. Very fitting that she passed without fuss in the country she so loved.

I saw this in Glasgow this year , this amazing woman learned the pipes in two weeks , she played with our military police band and sounded like she'd been playing it from birth . So utterly beautiful and as a scot spine tingling , music is music it has no religion , no colour nor borders just beautiful talents coming together to make magic melodies ❤

For Scotland and its people Their swords rang out from every glen Blood spilled freely by our bravest men who died for something worth more to them For Scotland and its people. (Chorus) We who now must follow them Shall we do the same again Fight and die for freedom still or bow on bended knee. Scotland's people are the greatest kind a friend to all with ties that bind A people yet both fierce and kind For Scotland and its people. Time for Scots to raise their eyes Let their talents gain their prize Raise their banner in the world's eyes For Scotland and its people. Word of my own making ---I hope you love this beautiful tune.
