I've never commented on any of these videos before. Its interesting to see people debate something thats just a spare of the moment jam session for us. All of us in this band are fortunate enough to work with a lot of different artist across the board, but every once in a while we get to just play and blow off steam, and thats all this was. Even when the sound is terrible like this situation. Its just a way to let loose, and not have to worry about pleasing a singer or an MD or industry big wig. If youre looking for perfection, keep searching. If youre looking for guys who truly love what they do, big money or not, keep looking. Thanks for your support and your critique, but we were just spazzin out looking for those special moments that you just fall into sometimes. Be blessed. PS> Thanks Leelu for always blessing the LA music community with your videos. We love and appreciate you.

Don't worry about the hater trolls. They're on YT just to spread negative vibes. This was an awesome jam session. Much love from Memphis...your home town and Hillcrest High. You gave lessons to me and Pastor Kenny Hollins back in the day. I'm still doing some of the licks you taught me...lol. Keep on playing bro!

Spot on, mr. Hayes. I just love watching artists of your stature showing the world that making good music is not about production or perfection, but about the synergie that arises from musical minds coming together in the moment. Keep doing what you love, so people like me can keep loving what you do.

That was beautiful; I think I would have probably lost my mind if I were actually there, hearing it being created right there in front of me. This ability to transmit vibes and impact emotions so powerfully via musical instruments will forever be mystery to me; I probably don't even need to understand the mystery, just grateful for its existence.

Fun. Great playing! Sorry to be negative, but one of the things that drives me nuts, is when one great exit sign after another appears for an ending, and the band just keeps blowing right through them. Players: when you set up an obvious direction to end a tune, but just keep playing, it’s ANTI-climatic! Like a comic who sets up a great joke, but simply won’t tell the punch line. Pretty soon, people start leaving. I turned off the video. Couldn’t take it anymore.
@haroldwashington28765 жыл бұрын
Please shut up, and you meant to be negative. However, there maybe a formal jam session happening elsewhere !!!!

Good God... 10 years ago when cell phones weren't the affordable HD camera systems that they are today, we would have never seen this. These guys aren't in the studio making a record they are just having fun. My point is that we are lucky to even be seeing this. Who cares that the song didn't get resolved cleanly. It's a jam.

Gouche is a monster. One of the greats. BUt he refers to himself as a gospel musician which take him out of the conversation of GOAT. The greats are journeymen who covers ALL genres of music. Marcus MIller, Alex Al, Anthony Jackson, Jaco, Victor Wooten (to name a few) have never referred to themselves as this type of artist/musician. I suggest Leelu do her homework prior to saying he's the GOAT. Not even in that conversation amongst his peers...
@edennard13 жыл бұрын
Might I suggest that you look at his resume...He's played and is still currently playing in all genres of music.. He was Chaka Khans MD for a few years, and was actually playing with Prince before Prince's untimely death also early in his career he was playing with Phyliss Hyman, Cheryl Lynn and Glady's Knight and other's as well in other musical genres besides Gospel so again my I suggest that you also do your homework as you suggested to Leelu that she should do hers...Peace and Blessings

@@tybrown4540 1000 percent!! The Sax player is obviously covering the lead line and should be comped accordingly. Pocket players nowdays are virtually non existant sadly it is a lost art.
@King_CJ.LetsGo5 жыл бұрын
Stop it. Eddie Brown is a legend. Him calling stuff out isn’t him NOT playing in the pocket. as the only board player, he’s the band leader behind the lead sax so he’s simply communicating the chord, hits, etc. that he wants the rest of the accompanying instruments to make so that they’re all on the same page. Wrong or not. Cuz it was clear that not everyone in the band was playing the same version. So Eddie was doing what any one of them could’ve done; keep everybody locked in and on the same page. Signs of an experienced musician and band leader.
