As a school janitor Cam got me wanting to just start something so. I started doing pushups. Just 5. Then I did more and more. Then I set a goal of 1000 a month or 33 a day. Now I do that plus ten every hour at work. And now I can bounce my pecs. In my 50’s. I’ve lost 100lbs. Keep Hammering thank you Cam Hanes.

Extremely grateful that you didn’t shy away from talking about faith. It is comforting knowing that there are scientists out there that don’t deny the existence of God. Especially comforting coming from Dr. Huberman because I’ve learned so much from him.

It’s always comforting finding others who believe what we do. It’s a much more difficult path to find those that we don’t share the same value or belief and choose to love them anyways (bearing their belief does not do harm to others). I hope you find that in your life as well.

@@chandellestone6395haha finding people that have disdain for Christianity these days is just a matter of turning on the TV or being on any social media for more than 2 sec - finding someone that openly talks about their faith is the rare thing, so your comment just makes no sense.

@animalscars3799 I don't think you're exactly helping with that calloused approach. While I agree that maybe just writing any old KZbin comment wouldn't help, I think OP is recognising the start of what you are also saying: OP is on the path to being better though positive introspection (as opposed to rumination), and hopefully they can then take better action moving forward And just coming out of drugs and alcohol is already a big win. Best wishes on your journey - to you and to all who read this.

Just got the mindset to be able to listen to my first podcast ever.Been watching them for the last 1 week.I am 26 years old from India. I am struggling with alcohol abuse and struggling to get a job. Always loved studying and sports but failed to keep that streak past 21 days, which is my highest in last 10 years.I had been smoking since I was 15 years old. After trying for 3 years I have been able to be without smoking for, 21 days just once. Made a thosandth resolution and failed 1000 times But here I am again, trying to quit alcohol and smoking for good. Aiming to be a hybrid athlete and really focus on studies.watching and liateng these two makes me thinking I want to be like these two men when I am 50 years old.So thanks for giving me a direction to follow the path of life. And huge shout out to David Goggins man.Keep hammering.. Love from 🇮🇳

When I lie in my bed just before falling asleep, I really look forward to the next day: get up at 5:00, work on a project (currently language learning), while having a great cup of coffee. afterwards working out (traininig for an ultra on my own), spend time with my son, having breakfast with him and so on, start to work at 9:00-17:00/18:00 in a highly competetive environment. then spending time with family once again, before bed reading books, listening to podcast, meditating and on and on and on you would never get me to drinking once again, even with my friends, I enjoy the time with them but I dont drink at alll anymore... but guess what, as I was 25-26 I was in the same situation and it took me years to reach that level... but it is possible especially with guys like goggins, hanes, huberman etc. just stick to your behaviour, never miss more than one day with your behaviour and at a certain point and it can take quite long... you will start to enjoy yourself and your life with all these positive habbits! keep going!

01:17:28 Listened yesterday, found myself halting with tears today while contemplating the will of God, recognizing the profound reality of an excellently academic mind on a mountain top, professing his communion with God. Huberman calls to mind disciples who wrote of in times of needing strength and healing, the love of God was present and His voice being prominent in their mind. Andrew Huberman, the Andrew Huberman, being a disciple is a blessing to our community of faith. 🖤

Community College is how I got into university. I was told in high school I would never go to college by both my family and my guidance counselor. With so much turmoil in my childhood, it was no wonder. I was completely distracted and in survival mode. Once I arrived, I was also straight A’s in comm college. I went on to get my undergraduate degree and then I got my masters of science with honors in Education from Fordham University. We were the latch-key kids. We were on our own. Fighting our demons without support and no safety net. We are resilient. It’s our superpower.

Just want to take a moment to appreciate the time we live in, where I can watch two of my role models coming together to create an unique and special experience and share it with their audience! That´s not nothing. It means a lot to me. Two months ago at 43 I ran my first marathon, because people like you inspire me to go further. So I develop the "I can do hard things"-part in me. But there is also the quitter in me, consuming too much, creating too less. It´s kind of a battle between those two. Listening to you encourages me to go in a better direction. So thank you, Sir! Greetings from Austria.

It was so great hearing Andrew’s “story”. I’ve listened to him for a couple years, but never really knew much of his personal life. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Why are the Lift, run, shoot episodes coming so late after the podcast is released, someone know?

Maybe production turnaround issues. The lift run shoot episodes are harder to edit into a coherent story. Podcasts are fairly easy in comparison.

Cam really seems to be getting into the swing of things now, that last 10-15 mins especially was such an organic, flowing conversation. I really look forward to the prospect of a hunt with Huberman and some fireside talks. Top episode.

I rarely comment on anything, but first time watching Cam's podcast. That was soo entertaining. Watched full podcast - did it in three parts, first hour when I was doing my cardio on indoor trainer then when putting my baby girl to nap and then just now when I put her to sleep. I love when someone is telling a story of a day that was one of the best day of his life. That was good, haven't heard the story of Andrew's life. I imagined perfect family and pretty geeky kid - I was so wrong, never judge a book by its cover they say. Legends - that was really good energy. Subscribed!
