@DocFong21, absolutely true! Kids today are actually robbed of their father's (good, honorable and moral father's) due to both parents having to work to keep food on the table. Kids are left to their own demise. The parents stick them in front of a TV, with video games, and they are left to do, go and develop their own lives, WITHOUT parental supervision. I grew up in the age of my dad being the bread winner and my mom being a mom. I was taught all the important skills to make it in life. My dad was a DAD! He was a hard working man, who taught all 3 of us kids, vitally important skills to protect ourselves and to make it in life no matter what was thrown at us. We were taught how to do everything from fixing our own vehicles to farming. We also made lasting memories from hunting trips to just spending time as a family. We were also brought up in a Christian home. A non denominational Christian home. We were taught about Jesus Christ and how He gave His life for all! My dad not only worked 5 to 6 days as a union worker, he also pastored a Church God provided all the needs to build it. To this day, that Church is standing and going strong. My dad is man's man, even at 83 yrs old. My parents dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ and are so respected in our community. I am the only daughter, the oldest and I am so incredibly blessed God gave me 2 of the greatest parents on earth. A child needs a dad and a mom. They need structure in their lives. They need to know they can go to either parent and that parent will be there to listen and be there when they need them the most. My brother's and are blessed to have this to this day. The hardest part of my life will be the day I will have to say, see you soon, to both my parents. They are and have been the rocks of us kids lives. The pontoon weekends will be the most missed, along with the amazing dinners we had each night. God knows my parents couldn't be any more loved then they are by us 3 kids. They have been the diamonds in our lives. It breaks my heart to see a child begging for just those few moments of their parents attention and being ignored or over looked. It breaks my heart and soul. Wow, don't know how I got off on this huge book of my parents. These are the parents I see Shawn and his wife being. Amazing, honorable, moral and respectable parents, who are there for their children every step of the way. May God Bless them both as they stay grounded and humble. They already have that part figured out, I believe. Now for the house full of kids pulling them in all directions. 😅

Exercise, exercise, exercise. I was incarcerated for 8 years, including during covid (locked in our cells 24 hours a day). I was sober and exercised all 8 years, and stopped myself from sliding into a crippling depression. Even in such miserable conditions, I exercised and my mental health was stable. Sobriety, exercise, and sleep will do more for mental health than any medication.

As a former combat vet and civilian now, I definitely find solidarity with you and feel like I belong, but the most important reason why you impact on me is bc you are real. You don’t present a front facing carefully manicured, finished product persona like many others in the podcast space. I’ve watched you from the early days of the show and I see the genuine growth and progression you have made. You’ve never shied away from sharing your struggles with your audience as you live through them, and that resonates tremendously with me and I’m sure others in your audience. Mr. Ryan..this interview [I'll call it that..] is truly one of your highest accolades. The amount of people that will change their lives from this moment on, is monumental. Andrew Huberman is a phenomenon. A specimen even. His story, his feedback on his own history, his work, and his own accolades are a testimony to what thousands of people had in the chamber. He's the one. Our G-D set him apart and set him aside for THIS. Not necessarily this segment..but for times like these. I don't even have to elaborate..you get it. He is a modern-day warrior. A man derived from old. It's the few like this, that preserve life and will be spoken of for ages. We'll be proud of our history..in times like these. Humanity has a few good leaders under Christ. He is one of them..throughly. "Thank you for your Service, Mr. Huberman. All greatness to your family, Sir." ["Shawn..you're more powerful than you know. Thank you for YOUR Service. Shout out to your family in this holiday season. Well deserved."] "Praise G-D"

One of the absolute best organic conversations I've heard in years. Such a great episode. I've been following Huberman for some years now. He actually validates what I've/we've been going through for most of our lives. I have to say, truth/ love always wins. The upbringing with the skating? Totally blows my mind. We're about the same age so I can completely relate, especially with the era. It was definitely a different time back then. Anywho... Remember kids, love always wins! Y'all turn your experiences into knowledge and therfore, as life goes on, into wisdom. I used to be good at math until "school" got ahold of me. Please, pay attention to yourself and never ever forget, LOVE ALWAYS WINS!❤️‍🔥

Years later we were returned to our mother when we should not have been and the same thing continued. Fast forward a few years and mother went to jail and I got my own place at 17. I learned more as a child than most people learn in their entire lifetime. Those lessons were difficult but allowed me to learn it all early so I can be the father I am today.

"No matter how far you drive, youre always the same distance from the ditch." This is really profound and it reminds me of another quote, I cant remember who from, but ot goes "Always remember, it was in the garden that Adam fell."

I can stand by this.. the advice and knowledge Huberman gives is always on point. I do my best to workout 3 days on and 1 day off at 4:30/5am since the pandemic and it’s the best hard decision I’ve ever made!!

What a great show. I was born in Brownsville Texas but raised in Santa Barbara California. I was there in the late 80's and all through the 90's. Skateboarding and graffiti was my love. I had a bunch of friends that got into drugs. I left for a good reason. My sister got me in a grayhound bus to Houston where my dad lives. And now I have a great family. God is good. Great show sir. 🫡🇺🇲

I have to say that I've watched Andrew Huberman a few times on his own podcast and interviewed on other podcasts. I originally only turned this on my tv just to have something on in the background. But this interview definitely caught my interest. Shawn, you do such a great job of interviewing and that's one of the reasons I subscribe to your podcast. You also have super interesting guests. I just have to say that I was so inspired by Dr. Huberman in this interview that I had to go sign up for his premium content because I am passionate about learning how to help our society's mental health and addiction problems and didn't know how I could contribute to that. I appreciate that he makes that possible while also providing even more information through his premium Supercast. Thank you for enlightening and inspiring me!!

The thing that's missing is the true leadership of fatherhood. Fathers teach and empower their sons by showing them how to be men of integrity. Fathers also teach their daughters how they should expect to be treated, their worthiness of respect.

I have recently rekindled my relationship with God. I was brought up Catholic, went to catholic school all the way through 8th grade and had it shoved down my throat which put a bad taste in my mouth as an adult. That coupled with all the abuse that went on in the church as a whole caused me to turn away from God. After going through some hard times in my life and realizing what I was doing wasn't working, my view of spirituality vs religion completed shifted and I began to see the best times in my life happened when I felt closest to the Lord.

I really liked this episode so far, I also feel like Andrew immerses himself in work as a coping mechanism. I think a part of him wants to have a family and settle down but feels he needs to prove himself through successful endeavors. What he hasn’t realized is that he’s enough just the way he is and that his intrinsic value doesn’t lie in how great he’s doing but rather just being human. He said he doesn’t fear dying but his hesitant to answer says otherwise. I don’t think he necessarily fears dying but rather fears dying before he had a chance to just enjoy life for what it is and not how much he accomplished. That’s just my perspective.

DDS of 25 years here! THANK YOU for putting out the correct dental info. Especially the mouth breathing part! I have a sleep and breathing business as well because of how mouth breathing affects EVERYTHING especially growth and development. I could talk for hours about this topic! I was trained by a Stanford ENT on the topic and it’d blow your mind. As always, great show!

I have always been a mouth breather and it has really affected me throughout my life. I found out a few years ago it’s a structural issue with the walls of my nose where they collapse when I breath in through my nose. I went to ent and was referred to a plastic surgeon that said I need full reconstruction. Frustrating bc insurance categorize this as elective surgery and will not cover. Maybe one day…

A homestead life sets the stage for good health. Waking up with the sun and heading outside to care for gardens and livestock. This life brings good sleep, time to reflect and self-examine, great nourishment, and a deep rooted peace. God made us to live out our days within the natural world.

Hey Shawn, Thanks for this podcast... ! I've listened to Andrew's podcast several times before and haven't thought of what he's been through in life, but it's great how he comes out with how he grew up, because it goes to show that he's down to earth and a very understanding person, and just a normal guy... it gives one inspiration and simplicity about life... Thanks for the encouragement ~ !!!!
