OH MY GOD!!! Thanks a bunch! My teacher wasn't clear about that and she passed next to the most important part which is clearly the plantation of the seeds leading to the war of secession!!!! Clearly France has a real problem understanding American history...cause I have other teachers inventing words and concept...

I like your delivery and content. Succinct and to the point. So, tariffs to support emerging industry in the north led to states rights assertions by the agrarian south. This states rights issue was indeed something the south fought for and was guaranteed by the 10th amendment. BTW the entire nation was complicit in the evil enterprise of slavery. The the south produced the cotton while the cotton was milled in the north. The textile industry, therefore, benefitted from slavery in the south; it was insidious.

Nullification is the act of not recognizing a law. Nullification Proclamation is the act of proclaiming or talking about nullification or nullifying a law. Hope this helps.

A War doesn't just happen out of the blue. Factors build up to making a war occur. It was the same with the Civil War.

These videos are always telling half the story. OH also nullified federal taxes. They did not nullify the tariffs but they nullified the taxes. To make up for the Federal taxes, OH implemented a $50,000 fee on any federal bank in OH to take the money away from the Feds. When one bank refused to pay up then the state of Oh sent in armed militia and held the bank up at gun point and took $100,000 from their vault. NY and MA and VA and SC followed suit with OH's example and they did the same thing. Ever wonder how the National Bank collapsed under Jackson? Because the states were becoming increasingly hostile to the national bank and Northern states nullified it even more then Southern ones at the time. Nullification was not just a Southern thing. Neither was secession. MA and DE threatened to secede at the Hartford conventions of 1814. It was not a novel idea that popped up under Jackson. It was an idea that was alive and well under the Founding generation in the North.
