Andrew was my neighbor in Monte Carlo, back in the 80's. We lived in the same building. I rode in the lift with him several times. Nice, down to earth guy. Funny thing, I had no idea WHO he was until someone told me, lol!

Ridiculous - of course, there would have been George - where would all that talent go? He and his lifelong friend David Austen wrote songs together that had nothing to do with Andrew. It's just so silly to think that Andrew, who did nothing significant in Wham! (with George's support) was somehow responsible for GM becoming what he became. It may have taken a different path - but, really, it's just silly. George wrote, arranged, produced, recorded and performed every single tune!

As much as I like Andrew. There would be no WHAM without George Michael. He wrote, produced & arranged all Wham's music. GM even gives Andrew credit for writing Careless Whisper with him, when GM wrote it while on a bus. People should look at some GM studio videos. Just because Andrew called GM up in 1979 to say it's now or never, doesn't mean Andrew was WHAM. The same with fashion. GM stated in an interview that he was given the Go gloves in the Go-Go video. Again there is a video that shows them shopping for clothes. Also Andrew was the one who left school early, and nothing musically happened. He calls a GM & convinces him to quit school. Seven months later, they have a recording contract. And GM is a natural dancer, whereas Andrew never really looked that comfortable. GM may have not had a good self image. But was confident in his musicianship. Thank goodness GM was a good friend to Andrew, so Andrew could retire with grace, as Andrew once said in an interview in 1984.

donna brown I like Andrew too you are mostly right GM was the gifted one in the group, beautiful singer, natural dancer he d got a lot of soul music in him. Andrew was the confident one since it was documented that GM had a lot of insecurities. Wham was both of them without Andrew Wham wouldn't probably have existed and we could say the same thing for George

Not sure if you made that up in your head. They were friends in school and had been in bands since then. They're all still friends apart from Andros who tried to sell George's things and sell stories. David Austin is another school friend. Andrew brought Shirley to the band. They were young and appealed to teenagers. They were more about being young and having fun. They didn't care about mature plans or songwriting. If it wasn't for Andrew they wouldn't have had the same attention and fans for their age group

I DON'T THINK HIS VOICE WAS AFRAID OF ANYTHING. GEORGE WAS VERY MUCH SO CONFIDENT IN HIS VOICE HIS VOICE TOOK HIM TO A VERY FAR PLACE. EVEN WHEN HE WAS WITH WHAM. I GIVE PROPS TO ANDREW FOR PUSHING GEORGE TO HELP THEM CREATE THE DUO WHAM. SOMETIME YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE POSITIVE BEFORE YOU GO MAKING JUDGEMENTS ABOUT THING YOU ARE UNCERTAIN ABOUT.
