i binge his interviews some days, but this was refreshing because of how excited he is over a recent project he's touched.

18 seconds in and this video is already perfect. "The only thing that matters is what comes out of the speakers, and that's it. Your decision-making process is very important for YOU. It means absolutely nothing to anybody else in the world." BOOM, we're done. We could stop the video right here and it was already a master class!

Speaking about masterclasses formats, I would suggest an enriched _"to-the-core- point-masterclass"_ with Andrew breaking down the insights he had while struggling to develop his very own decision-making process!!

Looking at all the upcoming talks on the board behind Andrew, I could honestly sit there all day, but what I especially love about Andrew Scheps' approach, is his unerring sense of 'don't get bogged down in the idea of, you have to do this, follow this, or take this approach'. Yes, he's got an engineering backgroud, yes he works with some of the best recorded audio you could be asked to mix and yes, he's had his hands on an array of outboard that you and I would die for, but there's no hiding his honesty, his frank involvement, his love for the music and his down-to-earth pragmatism

I wish I would have been there to ask how he dealt with bleed while mixing Live sets like this. It probably isn't as big of a deal with a show this big because of the size of the stage. I'm sure there is less bleed when the drummer is 30 feet or more away from the singer then there is on the small local shows I get the chance to play with but I would like to see what he would say.

Referring more to Scheps not the exact video. He repeats things in different interviews. For instance theres even a video in my suggestions right now titled "What comes out of the speakers is all that's important" - Scheps) .

Thanks! And I copy to 101% what you die say about phone speakers. Nobody who really likes music, listens on these crappy toy speakers and if, I don't care. I spend hours and hours on a song and all I ask is, that you use ear buds at least.
@SongMakerNYC5 жыл бұрын
sunny/positive side of this video is the fact that andrew knows so much about the sound and how to manipulate.....etc...moon/negative side of this video is the fact that music (in general) could have less fallowers/fans/buyers...etc...without people like adrew "forcing" listeners to feel the vibe and feel the exsitiment...basically status of a sound engeneertoday is raised up to status of a musician...it's like 50/50 or even more...that's pretty weird...it shouldn't be that close...i guess this is happening based of poor quality of music itself...i've heard opera and concertos recorded in early 20century on mono...almost "flat" sound, but music and performance were out of this planet..no tricks, no bs...just pure music and magical performance....same goes to early blues, jazz and rock...etc.

@Zorax21442 жыл бұрын
@@hoseynamiri all in good fun. honestly not even my opinion that your music was boring, just wanted to give you a hint of you're doing when you comment such things, large artists or not. your attack on that song isn't only an attack on the artist, it's an attack on the people who enjoy the song as well. Have a good day chief, keep listening.
@hoseynamiri2 жыл бұрын
@@Zorax2144 I do not agree. The comment section is made for both good and negative feedbacks. An open-minded artist or audience can freely have a take on them and think of them but not feel offended bcz people simply have different views. GL
@Zorax21442 жыл бұрын
@@hoseynamiri Well, it's not as much about being offended as it is about relevance. I agree that the comments section is a place for positive and negative feedback. You posted a comment on a video that isn't your music, and I brought up your music. You commented on a video that's a 50 minute long q+a between Andrew and the audience regarding the practice of audio engineering, and you said you didn't like the song. It's like going to a construction site as an apprentice and complaining that you don't care for the floor plan. It doesn't matter, it's irrelevant. Your purpose in being there is to learn the techniques involved in the buildings construction. If I cared about offending you, I wouldn't have commented back, and if I weren't trying to make a point, I wouldn't have elaborated. If I weren't trying to be polite while making this point, I wouldn't have withdrawn my comment assuming my point had been made. I'm starting to become hypocritical though, as this comment thread is not the focus of the video, and comments on the video should be surrounding the contents of the video. My final remark is that I didn't care for the song either, I just didn't think it was at all necessary to point out given the video is about the techniques employed, not the songwriting or performance. In that regard, the video is massively successful in it's intent. Bye!
