There’s a big difference between colonization and immigration. Immigrants moving into a place and bringing their culture with them, is not the same thing as an armed force coming into your country imprisoning people, murdering people, r*ping women, taking all the resources, and forcing people to change their culture to fit yours. That was done all over Africa, India, and to the Natives in America. Andrew really needs to open his mind to learning outside of his Americanized point of view.
@soojoe3 күн бұрын
You’re right but the same issue occurred in Europe prior to colonialism. So their point of view England is more English focused than racial focused.
@seaberry113 күн бұрын
@@soojoe yeah, Europeans were conquering each other for thousands of years. You would think they would’ve learned before colonization that what they were doing was wrong. They never did, they didn’t stop because they got a better perspective. They stopped because people started fighting back. Also, it’s totally a racially focused issue because they’re still doing it to Black and Brown people across the globe. France had a tax on Haiti from the point of revolution up until five years ago. They owe Haiti trillions of dollars and refuse to pay…how do you think that would go if the roles were reversed? England still has a foot in Africa, and now that Africans are starting to kick them out and reclaim their land…they’re savages and what they are doing is wrong. Let’s not even get started on what’s been happening in Palestine for almost a hundred years now. They opened their doors to Jewish people after the war, and Jewish people said “we like it here” then started taking the land. They’ve taken damn near all of Palestine at this point. No one has lifted a finger to help them people…they just call them terrorist. Now they’re moving into Lebanon doing the same thing. This world still plays by the same rules…they’re just better at hiding it now.
@hbb75283 күн бұрын
@@soojoethe same issues did not occurred in England, France, or Germany. It only happened to small countries like Ireland. Which was also like 40+ years ago. But most countries in Africa and Asia are still colonized or controlled by big countries like us, France, and England

Professionally, Akaash Singh needs to part ways with Andrew Schulz. "I'm just trying to having an argument based on the words that are said." The actions that co-occur with those words don't matter to Schulz. Everything about Schulz is exhausting and not worth any energy expenditure.

Cause and effect. England wouldn’t have mass immigration if they had not participated in colonization. You see mass immigration to Russia or China? No, because these countries pretty much know how to mind their business unless it involves parts of the regions they’ve lost.

American tourists and remote workers are gentrifying some of Mexico City's most treasured neighborhoods. Backlash is growing. In both places, natives have loudly complained that these new Americans are pricing them out of their homes and not bothering to learn local mores and traditions

As an Indian i disagree with Akaash. If we Indians are to still hold grudges at the english, then are indian communities that wronged other indian communities for millenia too to be held to that same standard? Should the untouchable hold grudges against the brahmin for a millenia of horrible subhuman treatment? Should the hindu, buddhist, sikh, etc people hold grudges against the muslims for the bloodshed, conquest, war, rape, etc that the mughal regime carried out? The likely answer from sensible people to that is no. The brits, the brahmins, the mughals who did those atrocities are long dead and so are the ones who suffered under them. Their descendents arent born with the original sin of their ancestors. Akaash does not realize that his thinking of holding ancestral grudges infects those people with that grudge too. They think, you are going to treat me bad even when i personally did you no wrong? So you know what, I'm goign to treat you bad. And now they are racist for real, and the imperialist racist tendencies come back again. I already see a part of the right embracing these racist, imperalist tendencies because people like Akaash will say, you are responsible for the pain of my ancestors, but then not see the pain of these same people who want to protect their own culture. And so the endless cycle continues and will continue.

Andrew is saying people would get annoyed if a lot of people moved to a country and slowly changed the culture. How’s that incorrect?
@salome91243 күн бұрын
Because it’s a territory that was already established before nation comes and kills and destroys, not just moves in and coexists. Gentrification is bad because it pushes out the current locals by inflating the prices, once again not just moving and hanging things at their door. Let’s not fucking underplay shit.

How can you do a thought experiment with variables that aren’t what’s actually happening, what’s the point 🥴 I like Andrew but very white of him here. The logic Andrew is using works if it was a level playing field, but it isnt. Sure it can be a concern without racism but majority is racism and xenophobia etc.
