I agree with every part of this speech however, the Liberal Party have given and aided the Labour Government the 'Under 16 social media ban'. And honestly HOW DARE YOU!! I can parent my own children thank you. What a weak kneed overreach. This is just as Orwellian and authoritarian as the 'MAD' bill. And a betrayal of the Liberal Party 'charter'. I've been a life long Liberal voter but, I now regret my recent vote in QLD, I will never make that mistake again.

Fantastic senator Wallace so glad and relieved to see that not everyone in parliament has taken leave of their senses. Australia, last time I looked, was committed to protecting and promoting traditional rights and freedoms, including freedom of speech, opinion, religion, association and movement. Seems like this government has thrown out the all respect for us. The same will happen to them if they don’t drop this terrible policy and remember that us Australians love our freedom and will fight for it.

Regarding the 'Under 16, social media ban' and the contradictions against it here in your own speech. "Almost every recorded social media bullying incident that led to physical harm or death was perpetrated by school peers. Most was conducted with the knowledge of parents and teachers. The problem is not social media. The problem is the social situation and lack of discipline within the school system and at the home. Banning social media will only isolate people and cut off access to knowledge. It won't stop school-age bullying. If anything, it will make this bullying more difficult to prove"

How to protect our children from social media...easy, educate your children PARENTS, if they don't get the message, remove the device. THAT IS WHAT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A PATENT - to keep your children safe. You are not meant to be a friend to them, you are the adult and using your wisdom to give them the best chance at making good decisions in future as they mature, encouraging critical thinking- children need boundaries, not to cater to your need to be seen as a kool parent!
