It’s because big L Libertarians (party members) try to thread needles that lack holes. Libertarian thought isn’t a political ideology, but they try to make it that way. The reason Dave comes across as retarded this entire debate is because he ostensibly believes in self-ownership, but rejects that said autonomy would lead to allowing things like same-sex marriage and abortion. However, Dave purports to believe in NAP but wants the govt to stop people from being gay or getting abortions, which is in open conflict with said libertarian principles.

I don't like seing the world as being determined by a higher being, because it largely takes away the ability of one to give others credit and judge others, cause everything is ultimately kind of predetermined by the creator of each individual actor. That bothers me a lot about the Christian pow. I also care way more about my children than I would care about the overall prosperity of society. And from what I can tell, Christian doctrines usually put the prosperity of society as the primary goal, and only then as a byproduct comes the prosperity of any individual. This wass a good example of why I have respect for Destiny. People think I'm crazy to say so, but the fact of the matter is he fails in his premises, not his argumentation. He is sound but not valid. In a nutshell, he has an almost axiomatic good faith belief in the major institutions and the system at large. While he will easily admit corruption and failure of any given institution concerning a specific event when evidence is presented, his 30 thousand foot view is the manufacturered "this is the best we can do, we're only human, bad events and actors are inevitable, and no grand scheme steering society could even be possible because people can't keep secrets...and also, appeals to authority and popularity" Secularism fails in application because it applies linear logic when induction is necessary... In other words, according to materialists, there couldn't possibly be a thing such as a police detective, and, ironically, neither could one come up with a meaningful scientific hypothesis. Linear logic is like the sharpened edge of an inductive knife... They're all edge and no blade

You said it yourself. He agrees when there are facts to show corruption or a conspiracy. The reason why he doesn't agree with you on the other things... is because you DON'T have evidence. This shit about "induction" vs. "linear logic" is just your cope to justify believing conspiracy theories with no evidence other than disconnected events and out of context quotes.

Regarding debate skills, Destiny and Andrew (as well as Noerr) are on equal footing in my opinion. Who won their debates really comes down to who the viewer agrees with going in. Doubt many minds are changed. Dave Smith is not in the same league. He is somewhere between Cenk and Candace Owens. This debate was brutal.

From a secular view I lost all hope for libertarians, they (as a group) have an unachievable purity test. And it's unachievable because no one can follow the philosophy without breaking it. Once I became 100% Christian, I can't even take it serious. And I've lost hope for every party. But that's kinda the point, we are all flawed and only God's commands are timeless
