I feel like a person can watch and drill the things you are teaching in 1-3, and smash people at local tournaments. Precise but simple movement with the sound logic you put behind it. Great job great video’s Andrew. Hats off to the filmed as well

Thank you from a tiny white belt who always has trouble breaking grips against gorillas in his gym, and definitely prefers slipping around in no-gi because of it. In a year and a half of training, and having moved gyms a number of times, I've never had a coach explain grip fighting so well, nor have I seen content that covers it in such concise and effective detail online. Seriously, thanks so much for this. I'm going to try it all tonight. Also, you guys are so inspiring at Daisy Fresh, your series on Flo is awesome. Keep the content and hard work coming, you guys are killing it!

Best mean-mug video thumbnail yet from this channel. I know how Andrew feels. Now I look at people like that in the same way behind the privacy of my corona mask but before it was quite awkward socially. People don't like it when I show them my teeth. Especially old people! I think I inherited the behavior from my Nana.

I started a roll the other day just focusing on grip breaking, and my partner was like "WTF man?" Definitely less fun for the one playing guard.

Thank you for the clarification on getting tension in the gi before breaking the grip. That’s priceless information.

Wanted to come back to this video to say thanks, Andrew and the PSF team in general. Your videos give me insights that help me a lot, and this focus on grip fighting has been really solid for me. There's a few veteran judoka in our class and they got that King Kong grip 😅

For anybody wondering why they got no staph or anything... its because they shower 1 time a week even less.. so they have their own microbes ontop of their skin protecting them, and we just wash them or kill them, depending the soap and water temperature we use
@taymerelane3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps your idea helps for bacteria, but you will stink and be vulnerable to ringworm. For ringworm prevention I believe that getting the little abrasions washed out with hot soapy and water as soon as you get home keeps the fungus from getting an initial purchase on you. After shower grease up your whole body with a light coat of virgin coconut oil to reintroduce some beneficial microbes and to deny fungus any unprotected skin to attack. Straight into the house after training my Gi and rashguards go into the laundry pile and I go into the shower. No problems so far, but I also train with clean people on a clean mat.

Love this stuff, thank you! Regarding the DLR where you slide your shin over his leg with your knee to the floor (4:32): my opponent usually retracts his left leg and initiates some form of scissor sweep where he uses the left leg to sweep my right leg and uses his right leg to lift me up and offbalance me. This often goes along with a sleevegrip on my right sleeve to really finish off the scissor. Do you have any advice, besides breaking the crucial sleeve grip, to deal with that threat?

Properly disrespecting with the mispronounced name, with clear conscience, and you KNOW the attitude is real give no fucks/ no time for shit heads/ say what you mean and mean what you say. You could be the most unreserved bjj figure, right there with Chief Gordon Slapaho. Hell ya.
