I had something similar happen to me, except my knuckle broke right in the drive through coffee line, truck fell onto the tire, spent the next hour waiting for the tow truck to get me out from under of the coffee shop awning and open up their lane. Had a rear axle break right at the outer bearing and the tire disappear into the bushes never to be found again on a 1974 BMW 2002.

Oh, I know drum two, most people like us who watch Andrew's videos don't know just exactly how much work goes into making a video. Just look at my videos on my channel, which you can go to. most of my videos short, but, the 3 that are longer then a 1/2 hour long are multiple cameras, and one of my latest videos that is over a 1/2 hour has multiple clips, cuts, pictures, and overlay text, and that took me probably close to 2 weeks of parcel procrastination and really working on the video to get it to where I wanted it.

Andrew, you have that exceptional ability of being an excellent teacher. I, even I, who isn't mechanical and has little experience in car repair, could follow your instruction (with the right tools) and be able to fix my vehicle (with some struggle and intestinal fortitude). A lot of people can try to explain or show how to fix something, but few that can do it well and make it very understandable. Thank you for what you do and I wish you the very best. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.

Distilled white vinegar will do the same thing as the muriatic acid and it’s cheaper and safer!! I use it to remove mill scale steel!! I put my steel in a tub of white vinegar for 24 to 48 hours and then wash the steel with water and dawn dishwashing liquid and the mill scale is gone!!

Don't know where you get your energy. Probably knowing that business depends upon a working truck keeps you going. But as for me and after a long day that included seeing my wheel roll pass me as I drive and my water pump needing replacing I would call it a day and say i'll get it in the morning! Great video and great instructions. Learned and continue learning a lot! You're the best!!

This may or may not interest you but may help. When i was towing my tractor a lot my truck (01 Tundra) sagged in the rear also. I put a set of “super springs” on it and it changed the way my truck pulled. It didn’t allow it to sag and the rear stayed up even w a really heavy load. It helped w the steering, it didn’t sway as bad and it pulled stronger somehow. Im not sure exactly how they work but pulling large loads now doesn’t affect the truck at all. Just an idea that may help extend the life of your truck.

16:30. Ford has a similar top hose application on the pump, and I found it helpful to have that little hose in place as I repositioned the pump. It works either way but is easier if I attach that hose as I reconnect the pump. This video is a great primer for anyone as are any of your videos.

"I use grease on my lug nuts"... "There's my wheel right there"! "Good as New"! "That's a nice tailgate"! And he says all this with a straight face! Laughing my ass off!~! fyi-The yellow dot on new tires is to line up with the valve steam, to help balance tire.
@SantaClaw6 жыл бұрын
in order to get the correct torque specs, you are supposed to clean and oil your wheelnuts/lugs.
@blackmasta716 жыл бұрын
Lol oiling or greasing your studs throws the torque spec off. From the factory the studs are given a dry torque. Adding a lubricant makes the torque greater and therefore stretching the studs. Over time they will weaken.
@SantaClaw6 жыл бұрын
@@blackmasta71 In Europe at least, Wheel studs are supposed to be torqued wet, with oil, not grease though for the factory specs. I am an actual genuinely certified mechanic. We're not talking soaking here, but 2-3 drops applied to the threads on the end of the studs and 2-3 drops between the flange and the nut body. If this is not done, dirt, rust and other contaminants may cause incorrect clamping force and the nut/stud can work itself loose.
@blackmasta716 жыл бұрын
@@SantaClaw kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmTRlZiOnr-Im68 This video shows a good example of the difference. I agree dirt can also screw torque specs up. Thats why a quick wire brushing does wonders.
@SantaClaw6 жыл бұрын
@@blackmasta71 I do what I've been taught to do in Mechanics school, and what is stated in the workshop manuals. There is a major difference between slobbing on Anti Size and 2-3 drops of oil on the flange and last part of the threads
