That last recent time I saw Andrew this happy is when he hired people to dynamite that hillside and it literally came out as gravel. He walked up with a huge grin on his face and was very pleased with the outcome. We get a kick out of seeing him appreciate even the little stuff in life, along with his dogs. I would like to suggest a vehicle I believe wasn't sold to the USA is a 1980 or 90 Toyota Troopcarrier diesel. These things go anywhere standard. Hardly anything breaks they go forever. Very basic and the same design shape for 50 years. That fire truck on the b-list video is the same series vehicle being the 70 series LandCruiser. "Troopy" is like this Isuzu body only better once taken the two bench seats that make it 11 seater out.
@Rommi4x4

As I'm from Estonia, there is a huge off-road community I used to take part of. Main brands that won stock class races was either short Troopers, Samurais or LCruiser 70-s. Environment is harsh over there and they really stood out. Even MB G class often proved too heavy. Nice gem, looks like new!

It seems that in too many cases the vehicle manufacturers have really fallen away from the notion of building reliable transportation with the driver in mind. True, but I guess beeing normal was not enough for the TV-channels, so they started producing more or less dumb realityshow etc., put together castingwise so it had to be friction among the participants. This channel has a great retro-style, showing that basic things in life are enough. Younger people in general will say the productions here are too slow, but one day it has to come back to the basics for them too, I guess. And make them cherish true content.

I'm amazed you found one in such pristine condition. If I remember correctly, I had to come to a stop to engage the 4WD......and then come to a stop, shift the gear out and reverse 4 or 5 ft. to get it out of 4WD. 1987 Isuzu SpaceCab P'up 4 X 4 which had an angled roof to allow for more headroom when using the jump-seats. The truck was a head turner because it was unique. Thanks for making a video including the new Trooper. It brings back memories when I was young and life was simpler.......i.e. "no engine light" 😉 It is healthy to reminisce. The campsite you created is heaven. You work your butt off and you deserve all the nice things you can make/do to balance your down-time/playtime. Thanks for sharing the more personal parts of your life. Man this brings back childhood memories of the 80s. My father started off with a 2 door and later owned two 4 doors. All were 4 cylinder, stick shift and no AC. And those garbage cans were the exact reason he kept buying them! Besides the battery the only other thing I replaced is 3 starter motors and have to do it again! It has a little rust on the bottom edges of the 1/4 panels and doors and is used for my river truck. Built with pride and made to do the job of exploring the wilderness dependably, cause it was a matter of life and death to get caught in vulnerable places. No electronics to fail without warning. Just a little note for home mechanics. When Andrew replaced the locking wheel hub he mention that there were a couple of phillips screws. They're actually JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard). They are very similar but have much steeper angle on the point. Using a phillips driver will work but not properly and will eventually damage the screw. However, using a JIS will work fine in a philips head. If you run lots of Japanese made vehicles, a set of JIS drivers is indespensible.

These videos are always fun, especially if you work of them to get them to your standard…but I do miss your working at a job videos. I can’t think of a rusted car that I’ve seen living in East Tennessee, other then a pickup body that had some rust on the body due to crushes, beds etc.

Famous in Ireland. Also the pajero land cruiser and amazon and Daihatsu fourtrak. I don't Think the trooper were that popular in the UK or elsewhere in Europe. It's odd how Ireland seemed to like all them things. Same for fiat tractors/valmet/SAME/ Lamborghini. We had them all before most other European countries

Nice Trooper Andrew. I still drive my 97 Dodge Intrepid...still runs great at 25 years and 185,000 miles. What can I say, I feel blessed to have it and only change oil about every 5 months or so...I do not drive it that much. Same engine and same transmission, so this Intrepid was well built. 3.5 litter V-6. You and your friend are so patient...nice fix on the parking brake.

You sit a lot lower inside a Cherokee, they are a great truck but you sit low in the seat when compared to an old Range Rover, pre TJ "Tub" Jeep, Trooper or older land cruiser (I don't know the model numbers of them). I love my Jeeps but they are a little awkward when seriously offroading.

Be still my beating heart .. a super trooper! I had an 86 round headlight carbed, loved it but rust took it out(Massachusetts)then I got my hands on an 89 2.6 EFI same everything as this one here. What a great vehicle ..only blew a couple head gaskets. Until I got the head machined. Apparently there were a bad bunch of heads but it was all good after machining. Traded it for a 91 yota pick up and those trucks are a whole other story! Nice clean ride this rig is:-)
