it's the DaVinci Eye App. It's a paid app but I use it so much for checking my sculptures that it's worth it to me. You can do the same thing by taking pictures and overlaying them in a free software but I like the realtime feedback of the DaVinci eye app.

Oh I don't remove the armature for these sculptures. This clay is for mold making rather than firing in a kiln. If I was going to remove the armature I would cut it in half once it's almost finished and then hollow the sculpture out to make a consistent wall for firing (if I was sculpting in terracotta or other types of natural clay for kiln firing)

Heyy Andrew, how much clay you end using to create this model? Im planning to buy a bit of Chavant here, but honestly I have no idea how much will I need, thanks :)

Depends on what you're sculpting and the size but I would order at least 6lbs (3 blocks) because ordering more makes it less expensive per pound. I usually order 40lbs (20 blocks) because that's the best deal per lb and I use it a lot but you probably don't need that much unless you're doing many sculptures or a larger sculpt.

filling with aluminum foil is something I sometimes do but the aluminum foil sticks a lot to this clay so it's hard to remove it from the clay later on. That's why I prefer newspaper and a plastic bag right now. Filling the inside with paper saves expensive clay.

This is Chavant nsp medium (green) mixed with about 1/4th part Chavant nsp hard (tan) to get this color and hardness. 3 kilos is probably sufficient for a head this size especially if you fill the inside with newspaper or another material.
