I'm afraid 1 day if I ever got a studio like that that I'd never leave.😅I'd turn into a hermit.

Dude, there's so many great musicians in Nashville. I think I'm living in the wrong city, lol. Paul's place is practically a library of audio magic, lol. Thanks for sharing this bro.

I really enjoy your channel Andrew. When I was around 18 I was into high fidelity stereos. I remember seeing the house mixers at concerts in the 80's and thinking to my self that's what I want to do for a living. Unfortunately it never happen. The closest I get to sound quality manipulation is with my massive guitar pedal board and diving into the DAW world and all the plugins. It's amazing how all the different equipment colors and tweaks the perfect sound. I enjoy listening to all these sound engineers talking about their experience with the equipment through their many years of use.

I record my drums with Focusrite ISA preamps I like these preamps very much have massive punch.. and 4 different impedances to set low, ISA 110, mid and high. With the preamp you have, so to speak, 4 different characteristics in one preamp.. and that's really awesome😉🥳 i love the lewitt mics on the drums! kick in DTP rex640 that has 2 mic 1x condemsor and 1dynamic capsule in it! and 2 separate outs👌 kick out I take the DTP rex 340 directly on the front skin about 1cm distance not on hole dishes! this is how you get a fat, punchy low end! snare top Lewitt DTP 440 is similar to shure sm57. snare bottom LCT 240 per condenser kidney. hi also has LCT 240 per or AKG 451.. toms lewitt dtp 340 are cardeoied super cardioid mic. have a lot of punch. Overheads Lewitt LCT 340c condenser kidney find the mic super! you can also super custom for acoustic guitar! space mic left and right Lewitt LCT 441 condenser omni8.. about 4m distance to drum. Room mic center ceiling (at about 4.5m height} at the end of the room about 5-7m from the drum Lewitt LCT 540 subzero. So you get a super nice room sound! just a great mic very clear...❤️ this is my drum setup

You need to do a course on mixing and editing acoustic drums too.

1:06... What happened to your WFL Kit?... I don't recall you changing over to what looks like a 60's vintage Ludwig kit?????
@enewhuis Жыл бұрын
If you go back it'd be cool to see the mic placements and variety up close. It looks like he's got a Shure dynamic duct taped to a condenser mic on the snare and maybe a 3rd mic as well. Also I thought I caught a mic on the bottom of the tom. I am curious what he is using on the tom batter. That has to be tough for large kits with the front address of what looks like a hand-held vocal mic like that.
@zackzinck Жыл бұрын
The snare setup is an sm57 taped to an altec 165a, and the Toms have EV RE11’s on top and sm57’s on the bottom. The placement can get tricky, but they reject cymbals really well and I haven’t been unable to place them so far!
