Could you also test their 220 grain Big Brother with gel and expansion tests? Thanks for the vids.

I would recommend copper solids on the 8.6. Jacketed rounds tend to have their jackets ripped by the hard twist and baffle strikes are common. These phantoms are definately nice projectiles. Wonder what they would do supersonic.

Do you know of anyone that actually happened to? I’ve heard a lot of people say that, it makes sense, especially with thinner jacketed rounds. But, I’ve also seen people run 77tmk’s through 12.5” 1:5 twist 223’s with wonderful results.

@NcHalfrican yes, I know someone personally who destroyed his can with a round that opened up too fast. I saw a picture in a facebook group who shot a 8.6 round at paper and it opened up in the air and it looked like an arrow

@ dang that’s a bummer. Any idea what ammo he was using?

@NcHalfrican they were both reloads that were too hot

Just think what the real max expansion measurement was / is. When the pedal tips are at 90 degrees. Crazy wound channel at that moment.

Don't like those few rds that were considerable lower fps. Nice expansion!

What is your gun’s barrel length? Looks shortish and I wasn’t expecting you to get the speed on the box I have never researched what the test barrel length used is on the boxes of sub 300 blk I buy, but I assumed it’s through a long barrel like they do with most calibers

Our flagship subsonic ammo is offered in barrel length specific loads. We don't want our customers to be shooting 800 fps subs out of a 5.5" barrel if that is their platform of choice. If you are not reaching approximately 1000-1100 fps on your subsonic loads you could be leaving up to 200 ft-lbs of kinetic energy on the table.

8.5" barrel is what the initial round was designed for when they created a .300 blackout

@@andrewmconrad The mushrooming of both supersonic and subsonic are really impressive. Nice videos.

@xringeagle both rounds from them were impressive. I've got some supersonic rounds that I'll be testing here in the near future. Thanks 🤙🏻
