I have one bound up to my Radiomaster zorro, flies really nice. Uses the GD00X protocol

That's what I wanted to know. Many thanks Mikey

😉 You can adjust the horizontal tail incidence to help with the pitch up tendency - just raise or lower the front or rear of the vertical stab when you insert to to fuse. These are a blast in calm weather!

Thank you for reminding us of the worthwhile toy grade stuff. Fun can often be inversely proportional to size and cost. Respect for keeping a miniscule, drab coloured model within easy view!

I've got a couple of these and also bought a few receivers/motor sets when they were available for DIY projects. Great fun and do fly very well on calm days. I lost one in a breeze when it went up like a kite. Up and backwards with no throttle unit it was a dot, still ascending. So don't fly them in a wind! Great fun.

That was a fun demonstration! I haven't flown one of the 2CH planes in quite a while but they are some very relaxing fun ;-) See you in the Air!

Exciting in the wind and very different technique required

We fly a number of diff-thrust planes at indoor meets, they do quite well. They fly different for sure, but still fun.

Thanks Andrew, a nice little toy, a bit wobbly in the wind! 👍💪✌

Yes a calm wind flier

Pocket money fun on a calm day, I think I paid £17 for one a few years back. Easy to lose when breezy, the motors don’t last long you end up only being able to turn in one direction. They used to do a 767 which had an elevator, much easier to control.

Happy New Year, Andrew. That is about my level of RC aircraft nowadays. not intention of going bigger 🤣🤣👍👍

This little toy will get a lot of the usual "RC Blue Bloods" poo-pooing but it has had a great following amongst true hobbyists for a long time now. Eminently serviceable, cheap, motors can be upgraded a bit, protocol known for decent multi radios, EPP so not easily damaged, plus can even be converted to 3-ch with a 2gm servo, light PWM receiver (like FS2A) and a second Multi Module. The bits are often used as the basis for many styro plate indoor fliers as well. And lastly, as the man says, at the price it makes a great desk mobile for the Boardroom Exec who has "everything"! 😉😊

Not impossible to put some control surfaces on it and use a 4 channel radio. Lot easier than modding the Lidl glider was.

I never thought I would say this about a RC aircraft, but : “It flies like a Porpoise!” 🤣

A bit of "dolphining" with this one

@@AndrewNewton Probably to be expected. It is called the phugoid cycle, and it happens to planes when they lose elevator control. I just remembered seeing an “Air Crash Investigation” video where that happened and the pilots could only control the aircraft with the engines. It was the story of United Airlines Flight 232.

Well, it's not about what inside the box. It's about what you will do with the box. BoxC-17?

I saw one of these flying itself away from my first Flite Fest in Ohio back in 2019. I bet the pilot lost visual and it was just leaving the property without a care in the world.

I got one of these! Fun to fly, but needs like 3 grams of weight in the nose....
@l8ur1e11 ай бұрын
A better idea is to change the angle of incidence of the tail.

Needs nose weight maybe Andrew. Ive never seen a concrete Cricket Pitch, so very not British...lol ...😮😮😮🇬🇧

I have a 3CH QF008 787 that is similar to your C-17 but has additional elevator control. It flies great but you need to remember there is absolutely no rudder/aileron control when the throttle is off.
@AndrewNewton11 ай бұрын
Elevator would be an improvement
@l8ur1e11 ай бұрын
Actually even with zero throttle you can control it in a glide, because as soon as you try to turn it will fire up the motors regardless of the throttle setting.
@lasersbee11 ай бұрын
It's seems really tail heavy...
@AndrewNewton11 ай бұрын
No it's the odd throttle/pitch relationship and too much wind
