I like the way You adjusts the position of the tails to the wings. So far, I’ve almost always aligned the wings with them. Obviously there was a reason for this here now, but it’s good to see this feasibility as well. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks Andrew for taking the time to make this detailed series. It's a big help to those of us who may purchase this kit.

The 2 channel glider I'm slowly scratching up will not have any cuts or holes in the tail boom. As you have indicated I also have a very fragile seeming carbon wrap tube. So I am bringing both 1.5mm carbon pushrods out of the end of the boom. I pre built a mock tail boom and pushrod to control surface linkage out of scraps of 3mm foam and a short section of 6mm tube. Just to find out what's possible. It'll be fine. Probably.

Apart from chuck plane test glides it'll probably be my first bungee hi-start launch too! ;¬)

Sir Andrew, Another great video. You make everything seem so easy and your plane is coming along beautifully. Oh, at (4:24) if / when you get a chance, can you please explain how your homemade Incidence Meter works. I'd appreciate that.

The incidence checking rig, did you get that idea from that DVD you mentioned in the previous video?

This is a classic on how to do the Zero Zero setup and all the other alignments. Just one thing :-) You don't need such large plastic tubes for the pull spring chords to come out of. If you are using 60LB Dyneema chord it fits in the plastic tube from the old control system in the kit :-)
@AndrewNewton9 жыл бұрын
+Malcolm Bond Thanks Mal. Wish I had seen your pull line routing before doing this. Much neater.

It is OK Andrew :-) I wonder if KZbin would let you post an edited video with a little insert, text or voice addition. :-) Hopefully your viewers can get the message that a thin little plastic tube from the kit is workable. Some videos do seem to have add-ons. I would like to learn this one day too :-) All the best. Mal :-)

Hi Andrew I've followed your build and Mal's comments in the RC forum- he says he raised the front of the pod by 30mm to achieve zero incidence when fixing the horizontal stabiliser - can you confirm/remember by how much you raised the nose? Thanks.
@AndrewNewton9 жыл бұрын
+Graeme Macalister Hey Graeme. My incidence meter took care of the alignment so I didn't need to measure that. Mal would be right I reckon.
@GraemeDJ9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew Newton Thanks Andrew- I went with the 30mm and had my first test flight and it floated beautifully for 70 metres just with a light javelin hand toss. I didn't do all your mods but I couldn't have built mine without your videos.Cheers.

That thing looks very similar to a topsky I have, I reckon it's common for companies to copy designs. Based on your newer videos, seems like you've lost interest in dlg?

It is made by Topsky I suspect. Still love it, just doesn't feature in videos

@@AndrewNewton oh right on, looks very uncanny. Would you ever consider to try a build where you bag your own wings?
@AndrewNewton3 жыл бұрын
I like the idea but probably too much hassle for me at the moment
@civilsocietyprivateinteres17113 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewNewton understandable. Pretty insane the level of technology the new ultra efficient dlgs are reaching. I'd love to get my hands on a used cx5. I get most of all my planes off other pilots in rcgroups.com , I'm not sure if it is a global site but very well could be.
