TL;DR: try to learn blender, it's actually not that hard. fun thing is: it's actually not that hard! I'd say the "less conventional" steps that a beginner blender user ("blenderer"?) would not think of were all related to the image editing, so, removing seams the way he did, and those tricks he did with the mist and subdivision. Of course there's a huge difference between seeing a video and going "I'd do that", and actually having to come up with the solutions yourself, but I'm just saying a lot of what's going on is something you learn early on. Once you start following some tutorials, you start seeing the patterns, common tools and such. Then, it's all about starting your own projects, cause there's only so much tutorials can teach you!

it really didn't though... I mean back when this tut was made, you could also scatter instances of objects millions of times, but please try and do that in your current version. See how your computer screams when you instance a million of these donuts across a landscape. Not only will it tax your system resources, it is also 100% wasted computing power for the 95% of donuts you don't see up close. This was always possible without the hacks, but people use the hacks in order to make efficient scenes, and would still opt for the hack even now because there is no use in wasting processing power for no gain.

@@joryjuky3561 The fan air that is being produced doesn't stay cold for that long as they blow the air onto the really hot heat sink. That cold air then becomes hotter and therefore, hot air emits from the computer depending on how hot the heat sink is.
@billylardner4 жыл бұрын
Uhh I don’t know how every reply missed the point of fans. External fans on a computer are designed to keep air flowing, so they dispel hot air. The components release the heat (which you can’t create, as it’s a form of energy) and the external fans get the hot air out the system.

@fireballsensei92874 жыл бұрын
Dude made a donut tutorial series for Blender beginners because it was easy to do and covered the basics. He even made another beginner tutorial series for the big 2.8 update. Then people kept posting their donut scenes and now people associate Guru with donuts. It’s actually become a meme among blender heads like us.

Both of you, I reccomend you try to see whether Open gl 3.3 is supported on your PCs in general. My laptop had the exact same problem. No drivers for the gpu to support open gl 3.3 which is required for 2.8x and above What fixed it was going to Linux. Linux drivers for my gpu had support for 3.3. That being said, I think a lot of this tutorial can be done on 2.79 version Literally anything can run 2.79 so havs a shot at that

This is amazing. Really great work on the this. One thing I noticed that would also help reduce the tiling effect with the donuts is the cross pattern. When you rendered the cross of donuts it didn't also render the dark shadows of the donuts that would have been below them. So when you pasted the cross of donuts on top, you ended up with a lower contrast cross section that made the tiling more noticeable. The plug-in your team made is amazing though, and really creates some good looking results.
