0:30 Set pressure to 1.00 and Custom Volume to 1.00, and apply. The mesh won't fall (due to gravity despite Gravity set to 0.00) then bounce back, but will inflate properly from the onset of the simulation (version Blender 3.3.1). Otherwise it'll _deflate_ at first during the simultation, and it won't look right. Frame 4 looks pretty good when done properly, but frame 5 isn't bad either, though it'll look quite puffy. Maybe adjusting the pressure down a bit will make things slow down during the simulation.

when you have a cloth simulation, you can have a collision object (like the sofa's structure), play the simulation (play button) and then while the animation is playing, you can move the collision object and see in real time cloth objects react. that can be useful to shape the pillows as it's laying on the structure of the sofa. Here's a preview: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXPGm2Nmqtx0rck

For this type if simulation you need marvelous designer. You can do it in Blender but it will need a lot of time for tweaking and the result will not be very good. In your preview you can see that it look like an empty cloth. In future I think Blender will have these features.
@sanbaldo4 жыл бұрын
@@PixellateYT I think that blender users/artists are people willing to use free software. I think that the real time cloth editing is something hard to control, but fun since you can play quickly with shapes (like you can do with the new sculpting tool for cloth). for example this is just a pillow generated from a box plus a collision sphere drop on it --> imgur.com/yyWJF6m
@PixellateYT4 жыл бұрын
@@sanbaldo You are right, but in Marvelous Designer you have to put a pillow shape between clothes and sew them to achieve realism.But if you want to get that in Blender, I think you can get that with "Simply Cloth Addon" which cost around $20 but you have to make some sacrifice. Because for Marvelous Designer you have to pay $50/monthly. It's your choice to get a expensive industry level software or sacrifice some quality for low budget addon.

I found even after flipping the normals to RED and adding different Pressures, it "blew up" in sections and it looked terrible. In frustration I finally tried negative -0.05 pressure and it blew the whole shape evenly like a dream! I must be dreaming ... or viewing a virtual world. Not sure why Andrew makes the seat cushion and arm cushion from scratch, instead of duplicating the back cushion and then modifying one for the seat and one for the arm cushion. Unless the point is to have students practice the steps we did in the previous videos, but good modeling techniques involve working efficiently, which means reusing your geometry wherever possible.
