I am thinking the "snap t face" function is handy in a lot of cases where the material can be made very precisely formed, like steel, which can be worked to a precision of few thousands of a milimeter. But I am also thinking, that with materials that aren't perfect, maybe it doesn't ruin everything that it's a little bit off, becaue that's how it would be in reality.

I am not a beginner, i have been working in the industry for 20 yrs now. One thing i like to do is to relax and follow tutorials like you know nothing. It is almost like trying to be a noob. The good thing about that it will bring you down to the earth and you will learn a lot of a things. So for this i restarted to work on this with the new blender 4, and guess what the new snap features came in handy a lot. Anyways Guru, thanks for these tutorials you put out into the world which is helping a lot of people including me improve their knowledge and workflow. For newbies how to use the snap feature is for eg if you need to move and you press g and then press the alphabet relative to the axis you want to move, if it is x axis press x on your keyboard. Now press B and you will be able to select either a corner or vertex point or and edge and then move that to snap it to another object vertex or edge.

Andrew's tutorials are so refreshingly good compared to all the other stuff that try to model things you don't need or try to model a most complicated scene in 60 seconds or tell us for the hundredth time to become a patreon and click the bell icon and so on. This here is how tutorials should be. Thanks a lot!

First the doughnut, then the chair, and now a couch. Thank you for making these tutorials and explaining them so effectively. If you click "display only axis aligned" in the image properties, the reference images will only show up when you hit the numpad keys. It's so nice to not have them in the way when you're just looking around the model (they're essentially worse than useless anyway since nothing lines up outside of the direct side, front or top views), but pop up when you need them. Also when your reference has both a front and a back elevation, you can choose which side it shows up from. Which is super handy

ooh he did something called back-formation! it's when you make a new word out of an existing word by analogy by removing a supposed affix. he took the plural form of "vertex", "vertices" /ˈvəɹtɪsiz/, (subconsciously) assumed the /-z/ at the end was a plural suffix, and removed it to get the supposed singular form that is "verticee" /ˈvəɹtɪsi/

If you have problems when you add the mirror to the back part of the sofa because it makes your back part not as long as the bottom part of the sofa, put the origin point to the geometry (with bottom part selected, click right boton-->Set origin-->Origin to Geometry). The center point of your bottom part of the sofa wasn't in the middle.

For me, the sofa legs worked better to first apply the scale, *before* extruding, etc. Then, *before* rotating it 45 degrees, I modeled the shape according to the blueprint, rather than trying to model the taper after rotating it. Also, not sure if Andrew will get to this in a later tutorial, but the legs are actually two parts: the main chrome section plus a black leveler (not sure if that's what it is, but that's what it looks like in the reference photos), which is cylindrical. For us nitpicky perfectionists. ☺
