Hi Andrew, I have been watching your channel for quite some time, awesome job! --- SVS "speakers", as far as I am concerned are under rated and not reviewed enough. I have been through Paradigm, kef, and a few others, including a dozen different subs, good but not amazing. UNTIL, I ordered SVS Prime Pinnacles, Prime center and bookshelves (5.1) and an SB4000. Powered by 60W x 7 NAD T758 A/V reciever. I can easily get near 90db with the setup, Watching John Wick 3, Aquaman, Fury, Mad Max, they blew me into next week! The punch and dynamics are incredible and can send bullets right through your chest. In addition to that, the best part is, the Pinnacles solo with music with no sub, dig into the 20hz range with authority and detail. Mids and highs are addicting. Absolute pleasure to listen to. From BB King to AC/DC, can't stop listening! Check them out! I am sure a lot of people out there would love them. Cheers!

Prime Pinnacles have been getting rave reviews. Wonder if upgrading from the Prime center to the Ultra center would be worth it. Or adding a pair of Prime Elevations if your Nad receiver has Dolby Atmos. These upgrades would make your system sound even better for movies.

Wow, vinyl records in 2.0 alone (on large setting) with just the Polks are way better than expected...satellite works great as a center channel. I could even do without the rears...3.1 Budget HiFi/Theater combo. ~12' x 14'' room, 9' viewing/listening center. Thanks for all your channel's talk about warmth vs. accurate, etc. I jumped out on a limb and tried for a warm 2.1, with a balanced theater sound. 5.1 Yamaha RX-V385BL.

Just a thought, I'm really looking at a 2.0 or 2.1 Hi-Fi system with a "heritage"-type speaker. Could you do a video on a 3.0 or 3.1 system with a center-channel that matches a great 2.0 Hi-Fi setup? I'd love a Wharfedale Denton 85 or Linton w/ or w/o a sub with a center that can blend for Netflix, sports, or a movie. Mainly, and even a video just on this alone...a Receiver that does Hi-Fi 2.1/2.0 and Surround equally well...boom! How do you become a member and all that?

Thanks for being a member. I think you're likely going to be just fine with the satellites, as a direct loudspeaker is going to perform better than a reflecting one. Hey Andrew! Great reviews that even the non-audiophile can understand. In this video you kind of leaned toward the Jamo S803 Home Cinema pack vs this (with the exception of the sub). Which would you recommend for a medium room, with both being driven by the Yamaha RX-V6A? This SVS Prime Satellite Speaker System or the Jamo S803 Home Cinema pack paired with an SVS SB-1000 sub. With the addition a of a quality sub to the Jamo S803s, the price difference is negligible. Looking at 90%/10% home theater to music. @andrewrobinsonreviews4 жыл бұрын
The SB-1000 would pair great with The Fives, though the finish options wouldn't match. Adding a sub to The Fives would allow them to open up a little in the midrange, lose some of that chestiness (provided you set the sub up correctly) and thus turn them into an affective full-range speaker system.
@taylorsimonr4 жыл бұрын
Great video, thank you again for another informative review. So - I have two main questions, both home theatre related because if I get the house move I'm hoping for I may have room enough to seperate films and music into two different rooms. Firstly, subwoofer aside, with music and a two channel set up all the music imaging and depth comes from the left and the right channel. The percussion is there, right back, the vocalist is up front, dead centre, the lead guitar is slightly back and to the left of the lead singer and the backing vocals are lurking at the rear left of the soundstage. It's all there, either filling the room or sitting between the speakers depending on the equipment or the recording (or both of course) so why are there so many more speakers than 4 in a theatre set up? Why do you need the centre channel at the front mainly, of the 5 channel setup when the stereo speaker system can already place sound there. And equally, why can't (or don't) the two rear speakers work with the fronts to place sounds between them - what advantage is there in putting speakers in between the front and the rears? Overall that question boils down to why not just have a quadraphonic speaker system? The second part of the question is to do with that center speaker - other than aesthetics, is there any reason that a typical (consumer level) centre speaker is designed symetrically with a midrange driver either side of the tweeter? Sorry for bombarding you with the questions Andrew. I'm just curious to learn more.
@andrewrobinsonreviews4 жыл бұрын
Quadraphonic was our first attempts at "home theater" if you will. The reason it's not the norm is the fact that we can mix and encode content with discrete channel or speaker information. You can have a home theater without a center speaker/channel, but if you're listening to a Dolby soundtrack but lack a center, that info is going to be split between your left and right main speakers anyway (provided you didn't mess up and tell your receiver you have a center connected). But just know that Dolby and DTS soundtracks have a dedicated center signal, so why not have a speaker to take advantage of it. Second, most home center speakers are horizontal because of TVs. Simply put, need a speaker that "fits" below or above a screen. In a commercial cinema, the center speaker is NOT horizontal but the same as the left and right speakers (or in some instances two of the same speakers). Great questions! Thanks for asking and for watching!

So do you suggest the Jamo S 803 series with a SVS SB-1000 subwoofer?

Hi Andrew, I already own a bose soundbar 700 along with 2 bose surround speakers. I am recently considering to buy 2 subs to push the experience to a whole new level, but I am also open to new brands that can give me an immersive surround experience. What do you recommend?

My cousin is thinking about getting a Bose system. I'm trying to convince him to get svs sytem. I think this system would be right for him getting into home theater.

It's not that the Bose is horrible, but it's an extremely poor value. I think the Bose hate is mostly because they charge a premium price for a mediocre product. What did he end up doing?

@@Nytewolf718 my dad had some 301's for a long time our kitchen. My mom wanted something smaller and he got some $100 BIC bookshelves that sounded so much better. I even noticed when I went over there even though I didn't live there.

What would be considered as a small to medium room in terms of square footage?
@andrewrobinsonreviews4 жыл бұрын
In my opinion a small room is like a bedroom or den, maybe 8x10 or 10x12 feet. A medium room would perhaps be 12x14 or 14/6x16/18/20 feet. Large rooms in my opinion are 18+ x 22+ feet in size. If you have high ceilings that too factors into room size and can make a medium size room a large one based on height.

Home Theater System noob here, do you think this speaker set would match up well with the Aventage RX-A2A?
@dominus5194 жыл бұрын
I use two sb-1000 in a 5.2.2 monitor audio setup. It really makes a difference. Way better dynamics. In room 4 - 5 hz lower with a 3db gain. I have a small ht. 3.5 x 3.5 x 2 metres.

Can you review the Jamo subs, such as the s810 you mentioned in this review, or the c910 | c912. Your review of the Jamo Concert and Studio towers were rave, but what about the matching subs? Thanks so much!

Thanks for your intelligent reviews. I have a 14 year old Aperion Intimus 6T system, and am currently considering either SVS ultra tower system, or the Aperion Verus III towers with matching peripherals. I would be interested in your views on the top Aperion System, there are multitudes of reviews on the SVS Ultras but no real content on the Aperions. BTW my sub duty is handled nicely by an old school SVS pb12 plus 2.
@andrewrobinsonreviews4 жыл бұрын
I like Aperion though it has been a number of years since I've demoed them. I think you'd be well suited either way, so it's up to you.

Are you asking which you should consider? If so, there are numerous Atmos HT packages on a budget, so I'm not sure which to point you to.
@markrowe88244 жыл бұрын
they've already done Atmos on a budget in a previous video, by the way you sent the same comment twice, just because you didn't get an answer within 30 second's of posting doesn't mean you can keep sending it, that's called spamming.

I’ve been seriously considering this system vs the Klipsch 5.0.2 system from Costco with 2 subs added. I would greatly appreciate your input on which system would be a better experience for me since there is nowhere around me to listen before I buy.

Why didn't you place the center vertically? Or, pair 2 of these for center channel. I'm a big fan of svs with 2 PB1000 subs and 4 Elevation surrounds.
@djijspeakerguy4628 Жыл бұрын
Should probably never use 2, but placing it vertically would’ve been a better choice for consistency in sound as you move left to right in a room. Most MTM style center speakers are really just terrible at this as well. You need tweeter-over-mid, or coaxial designs ideally.

Go for bookshelf ones. Better to start with a good higher qaulity then looking later to upgrade and end up spending more.

I would like to see a review on the satellite speakers Dali Fazon Sat since they might be good but you don't find a lot of in depth review on the internet. The design is very good and they are very compact as well but do they hold up to their steep price (270.- for each)?!
