I already have the SVS Ultra towers and Ultra Center for my front end but I have not bought a subwoofer or the rear channel and elevation speakers yet. I'm thinking of getting this 5.1 system for my first subwoofer and using the satellite speakers for the 2 rear channel speakers on stands with 2 more of them mounted high up and facing down for the elevation speakers. Not sure what to do with the 5th satellite though. I'm also looking at the SVS SP 1000 pro for my second sub to complete my system. The room is 12.5 feet by 20 feet. What are you thoughts and any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi there, I heard you mention your room size and openess of your living room. I was wondering how you would compare the sound to a larger set up in that room of yours. I currently have the Focal sib 5.1 set up and it fills my room with awesome sound but I sometimes feel like I need a larger center channel speaker, since they are the same size all the way around. I am using the Onkyo Rz820 to push my system.
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks again for watching and apologies for such a late response! It definitely depends on the speaker you're talking about. In the end, what we notice with this system against something like the Aperion Audio Novus 5.1 system with the Novus 6T towers is the overall projection of the sound - bigger speakers (especially better, 3 way center channels) just have that ability to place sounds in the room and around you, rather than feeling like they can't make it very far away from the speakers. The smaller speakers still have TONS of detail and clarity - mostly thanks to the fact that you're using smaller drivers which will reproduce your midrange frequencies better - but you just won't get that super immersive, deep and wide soundstage when compared to a bigger set of speakers. You'll still get pulled into the content, but it's those types of refinement and additions to the sound and experience that separate the more affordable speakers from some of the best speakers. Hope this helps :)

@@TwoGuyzTech this is great information! I am currently using Focal sib 5.1 with 2 focal in ceiling speakers for Dolby Atmos driven by my Onkyo Rz820 and it sounds incredible. Since I have had this speaker setup for a couple of years I was not sure if continuing with small bookshelf speakers would be effective enough, I would love larger LCR speakers but my decor and having a fireplace in the middle of room does not leave the the ideal setting for tower speakers. My room is 20 x 20 and I am using the LG hu810p laser projector with a 108 inch screen that I am upgrading to a 120. If you go to my channel I have some clips showing my setup. Nice review, are the svs pack dolby atmos speakers, which AV Receiver would you recommend to match it well & lastly for a great music lover, between this Svs prime pack & Klipsch Reference Cinema pack, which would you recommend most? Thanks!
@TwoGuyzTech Жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching! The only thing that determines if a speaker is Dolby Atmos is the signal that's sent to it and its positioning, so just about any speaker can do Dolby Atmos. As far as the Klipsch speakers go we haven't had a chance to hear them so we can't really give an opinion. From looks of them the cabinets appear to be made out of plastic, compared to the SVS which are MDF. For receivers you can check out our reviews on Denon, Yamaha and Onkyo entry level receivers from Costco. If you have a larger budget than the three mentioned I would stick to brands like Marantz, Emotiva, Denon or Yamaha. Hope this helps!

So just in terms of the prime satellite speaker vs the rslcg3 speaker which one is better?
@TwoGuyzTech3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! They're pretty close, but I'd say the biggest factor is that the RSL CG3/CG23 speakers sound 'bigger'/have more presence in the room. For the price, we would probably go with an RSL setup, but that is just our opinion :)

@@Professor5180 For us, it'd have to be the RSL speakers - the compression guide design does manage to deliver cleaner bass in our opinion, and they just seem to fill the room a little better - but again, it's a hard choice and you won't know until you get to hear both yourself and make that decision. RSl CG3 vs this SVS kit? Thoughts?
@TwoGuyzTech4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! It's definitely a close match - they both sound great, but there are some things to keep in mind with either system; The RSL CG3 5.1 comes with a more 'proper' center channel speaker, but it does cost $80 more than the SVS system. On the other hand, we feel the SB-1000 sounds better than the RSL Speedwoofer 10S, but that does come down to personal preference (we like the sound of sealed subs more than ported subs). If you go with the SVS Piano Gloss Black system like we show here in our review, the price goes up to $1,199, but it does seem like a much more durable finish than the RSL piano gloss black, which comes standard on the RSL set. So it just comes down to which features you want more. We don't think you can go wrong with either system as far as sound quality, but it's worth taking advantage of the in-home trial periods of each system and returning the one you don't like! Hope you found this helpful - thanks for watching!

I enjoyed the movies and music everyday while stay home due to laid off from work. I love SVS has much better quality and clear sound. and the basic wood color set match my tv stand. it looks very beautiful. I don't like piano black because very easy get dirty and finger print, but some people spend extra $100 for shining look. I connect it to my Onkyo receiver ($500 on sale from Amazon) and Blue-ray Player($49) with 4K HDMI cable($10). The sound is amazing good. Much better than my friend's Bose Satellite speakers he spent more than $3000. Plus my receiver has more function and inputs. He regret after listen my SVS. LOL.

@@TwoGuyzTech I think it would be a great matchup between the two. If I had to guess (from hearing the SVS system, but not the Starke), I think the SVS would win in the low end (subs are their backbone). Although, the Starke sub is pretty neat (I once had an Aperion sub of similar design (one driver with two passive radiators), and it sounded huge for how small it was). Starke looks to be making some very nice higher end products, so I wonder if that trickles down to the Echo satellites.

Thanks for watching & for your feedback! We always try to judge products by the way they sound and the experience as an end-user. Most people don't find value in the internal components in a speaker (although we do!) and put sound quality first. We agree that this warrants further investigation - but they've proven to be great sounding speakers for the price in our time testing them.
