Hi Andrew, I am not the person who usually reaches out to someone providing content on social media platforms. Also, because I am an artist who thinks "if I practise enough I can do it myself" therefore I usually don't 'buy' from others. I stumbled over your heron painting about 2 years ago and I was so excited to see a MASTER at work and sharing his techniques, moreover - I was gobsmacked at how brilliant the painting was. So here we are 2 years on and I have subscribed to your channel, I have watched most of your tutorials, some of your podcasts and 'bought' your EPIC MILFORD video. Whilst you don't know me, I feel like I am an old lost buddy so thank you for all your content, I really am amazed at how much I have learnt because as I have said... I am an artist. In fact, I am a mature aged artist (60 years young) with distinctions in painting from College and University, yet you opened my eyes about so many things!!! Thank you so much.

Blessings TO Mexico. Please apologize to those around you for the behavior of some Americans these last three years especially... I want you to know that the majority of us are not mean jerks. Please know that we are working on changing things as soon as we can. Love and Blessings to the people of your country. Art joins us together, as do many other things. We must embrace that and hope for better times. Happy painting!

Andrew, you are heaven-sent! I know that traditional oil painting had dropped off the scene not too long ago, which makes it difficult to find good resources and education regarding oil painting. I think you are doing a wonderful job of keeping oil painting alive! I always enjoy your videos and I truly appreciate all the info you share. Thanks again!

they want the poor artists to spent as much as possible so that "the painting doesn't destroy itself while hanging on the wall because of low-class painting mediums". It is also important to check that a painting doesn't go up in flames because of too much linseed oil.

One of our artist fellows pointed out that you can replace the child proof caps on the W&N medium bottles with the screw caps from non corked wine bottles. The width and thread size seems to be exactly the same. I use the ones with a silvered inner seal of the same type W&N use on the inside of their bottles. Gently wash the inside with plain water and allow to dry for a few days incase a little water is hiding behind the edge of the seal, and they're ready to go. The childproofs can be good to begin with, but after a while, little bits of medium can gum them up. My New Zealand wine caps seem to work great. Of course if you do have children of that age, it's best to avoid with the more toxic bottles.

Another great video Andrew, thank you. I started off oil painting around 10 years ago using Liquin as I like to paint in thin layers. I have tried more traditional mediums, but always go back to Liquin. I can’t tolerate turps so my solvents of choice are Zest it or Gamsol. I don’t have a problem with Liquin fumes as I only use it in very small amounts. It does have varying drying times though depending on my colour mixes, but I feel confident using it.

Super helpful! Thank you. I'm currently painting with acrylics and ready to take the dive into oils. I completely understand the steps with the 3 dilusions. What I'm not quite understanding is what you do now, with the liquin. Do you just use a smaller ratio of liquin to paint as you progress, making the drying time slower and the paint thiker as you layer up? Or do you use a different medium along with the liquin? Does that make sense??
