Nice video. One correction the example you are showing at the beginning is Giant Reign 2016 which has 160mm rear travel, not 170 Cheers

+Vasil Tashev yes true :) i just used a random picture, not the best ideia indeed. But if you want to see the full and correct analysis of Reign 2016 check on my linkage analysis videos (Reign vs Enduro FSR)

Hi First of all let me thank you for your fantastic and informative videos! I have a quick question, do you have any thoughts on Rallon Orbea 2018? in your opinion considering both climbing and descending which one the shocks are more suitable for relatively linear frame design of rallon? Dpx2 or X2? I am not a heavily DH focused rider;however, I consider my self an aggressive enduro/rocky trail rider so climbing is important to me too. Also i have been riding with Duarte in Sintra , Weride was a great tips!

Thanks a lot Andre ! I still don't understand what is the purpose of a regressive geometry/suspension. Is it comun ? What kind of bikes have that geometry, and what is the advantage ? Even in cross country I don't have it clear.
@andrextr5 жыл бұрын
thomas vuillermoz its not very commum nowadays. You will only find it on some xc bikes. It makes the beggining travel stiffer (less pedal bob) and its easy to use all travel on moderate impacts (in xc its not expected to make big impacts)

Hi, what if you use simple rear suspension with linear characteristics and combine with coil damper with progresive spring? Maybe that would have same outcome in wanted progresivity and less parts needed = cheaper, more simple, weight savings.?
@peshhhiify7 жыл бұрын
Here, they discuss the similar idea, but in the motorbike analogy - dirtbikemagazine.com/ktm-suspension-shootout-pds-vs-linkage/ . What is your opinnion?

Great videos. Lots of useful information explained well. But please get a decent microphone.

Yes, the audio quality is terrible, but I think I finally solve that on my last video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3yYp62JnK2Ll8k

good stuff, shame to ruin good content with a thing like that. :)

by the way, i do a bit of MTB filming on my channel, (just for fun) have a look at my recent vids if you have a minute. :)

Saw your channel, good quality! You are at the pro level :D ! Also saw your mic test video. I thinking to get a lav mic, and found today the cheap Neewer Lav mic, which is not the best, but it seems to be way better than my current 15-years-old cheap headset ( :D )

Thanks! my channel is a mixed bag, some stuff is polished, some is rushed. yes a lav mic should help lots. I will share your vids with my bike mates :)

Olá Andre, bom trabalho. Muito bom. Eu estou a desenhar uma suspensão para a minha bike, achas que compensa adquirir a licença do software que usas? E já agora usas o modo profissional? Obrgado
@andrextr3 жыл бұрын
Sim uso o profissional, e sim compensa para quem está a desenhar..

What software do you use for modelizing/analysing your bike? Thanks, Arthur

+Arthur Fritz In this video I only used excel, but the software to analyse the bikes is the Linkage www.bikechecker.com

I weigh 100Kg and my current spring is rated at 450pounds, what spring should I get
@andrextr8 жыл бұрын
+ArtDreams Studio that depends on the leverage ratio of your bike (amount of travel vs shock stroke length). Which bike do you have?
@andrextr8 жыл бұрын
The bigger the shock the lower the springrate
@rcromehobbies92428 жыл бұрын

@andrextr8 жыл бұрын
Hi. The spring rate of a rear shock also depends on the amount of travel of the bike and in the shock length. I would suggest to use this online calculator: www.tftuned.com/spring-calculator (keep in mind that some input values are in inches and not in millimeters). Bye :)

Shouldn't force be in Newtons instead of kilograms?
@andrextr8 жыл бұрын
Yes, newton is the standard unit, however force can be expressed in Kg.f (kilogram-force). 1 Kg.f = 9.8N Bye
@jessechen49717 жыл бұрын
Note that "Kilogram-force is a non-standard unit and does not comply with the SI Metric System".
