As a RNDR holder, I'm happy about this. I also second your comments on the M3 Max. I switched from a Threadripper 3960x + RTX 3090 + 256GB RAM workstation to the M3 Max Macbook Pro, and it has changed my pro life so much. It's faster, better, quieter, and of course I don't have to deal with Windows BS anymore.

Hey, could you develop on your workflow and how switching to M3 MacBook improved it ? What about the rendering part ? Thanks
@omidpakbin3 ай бұрын
@@taon Hey. Doing video production work (After Effects, Davinci, Premiere Pro) is faster and smoother than my giant PC workstation. Blender works flawlessly on my M3 Max too, but CyclesX render is slightly slower than RTX 3090. That means a RTX 4090 would probably be 2x faster than my M3 Max. I'm totally okay with that, as I would send heavy renders to render farm anyway. It's a night and day difference. I will not go back to windows.

Per your M3 Macbook faster than your 32 Core, I agree. Not too long ago, I built a 24 Core Threadripper Beast and now I just dropped the card on a BD790i ITX motherboard with built in CPU that pulls around 32000 on Cinebench 2023 thus slaughtering my beast. I have a spare RTX 3080 I'll use until the 50's come out. Good to see you safe and have fun! no1ukn0

Yeah.. i have to agree.. its network rendering rocks!… i even use my RTX 4080 VR PC as a “EGPU” like render node for my M2 Ultra mac studio machine.. NICE to have all that ram/vram! - and if i need more i can easily just go to the RNDR network without any changes… So.. its a wonderful workflow.. I run the PC headless and don’t even have to touch it. ALSO no need to install any software or plugins on the network nodes. Just add a 10G network card on your local PC’s and add a 2nd dongle for internet on the mac and use its main ethernet at 10G speeds for rendering with a different subnet. Best of both worlds. Nice to see octane having a good moment here!. it really is nice and scaleable and don’t have to pay extra “full seat” fees like with Redshift.. Come one maxon.. cough up a few free render nodes already.. !
