Thanks for the video. If you want to forget updates and problems with Zlink, Headunit reloaded works the same, it is the best app I've used for android auto in head units. The main thing is that these apps use the phone resources and it is much faster

My zlink has a license number from the head unit factory, it's not from play store... search fo an .apk download through the browser

Headunit reloaded works exactly the same and doesn't require anything but a usb lead.

Hey John, always appreciate your videos. Are you saying that you do NOT need to set up a WiFi hotspot on your phone for your head unit to use? You seemed to say that you just have to have WiFi turned on and the head unit will set up its own network. BTW, my new Dasaita M6 uses EasyConnection instead of Z-link.

If it won't connect wirelessly, you can just go to Bluetooth settings and restart the connect by turning the BT off then on again. I also set my headunit's hot spot to be always turned on.

I found out after that people are having issues with certain brands. It depends on your bluetooth hardware. I know atm idoing bluetooth hardware does not support wireless android auto

hey did you get any more info on this? looking to get a custom head unit for m car by kanor, it has Helio P60 8 core and Bluetooth 4.2, and currently running zlink 4.0.5 and looks like it can be updated to 4.0.6. Wireless android auto would be class on it.

Can you do a review on the ATOTO S8 Ultra 10.1 display. I've been with mine for a maybe a month now and I'd like to see your opinion on how it stands up to other Android head units. I have no complaints for it other than the 1 rca sub output on the back cutting my voltage in half with a Y splitter, but overall very fast processor, OLED panel, Wifi and LTE Sim integration, dual Bluetooth, Toshiba built in DSP, 4 USB out 1 integrated. Seems to have everything besides AA Wireless.

Alot of missing information here. What version of Android are you running on the head unit? How did you get the version of zlink that you are using? What version of Android are you using on your phone and what phone model? Are either of your devices rooted?

This is an older headunit model but it really depends on your bluetooth module as well! I'm not sure if buying an adapter will give you wireless android auto. Even at it's current state it's pretty buggy!

Its nice because you can get text messages and if you had directions on your phone it's there. You are tight that native apps like spotify are much better.
