phones can never burn up due to overclocking(unless you do it really extreme), but the battery has a safety mechanism, that safety mechanism is also programmed in to the kernel on android I believe. So you'd somehow need to take yourself and reverse engineer, hack the firmware to get in to the battery safety mechanism for frying the chip. As you said, it'll usually just go in to a safe mode in the code saying something like "boot loop safety" or something alike.

What Kernel is recommended to overclock the Note 4? N3_AELKernel_v7_12_081214 ? HydraCore Kernel? 10% of 2.7Ghz would be 2.97Ghz, and 20% of 2.7Ghz would be 3.24Ghz.. I'd like to see my Note 4 (SM-N910P) be able to be overclocked to 3.24Ghz, if it's possible, or even 3.10Ghz.. Would be nice. Can you help. I've seccessfully Rooted my Android Device, I have SuperSU Pro, and I have Philz Touch 6.59.0 / ClockworkMOD v6.0.5.1 as my recovery. I also have installed Quick Boot. I've rooted the Samsung Galaxy SIII in the past, but now that I have the latest and greatest Android phone on the market (2.7Ghz), I'd like to do the steps that I didn't do with the SSG SIII, which is manually install a Kernal to properly overclock the SSGN4's Snapdragon 805 Krait 450.

siayh kernel should preinstall in your rom stweaks app... just use it to overclock u will found a cpu tab where there is all the cpu settings (governors, frequencies)

Not sure if you've come across the answer yet, but yes. You can turn down the max frequency of the CPU via app (SetCPU/STweak/Tegra overclock) but the Jedi ROM (was it the X17?) should have made some great improvements even without tweaking the CPU. If not, then I hope you were able to make a backup via CWM Recovery so that you can get back to where you were. In any case, keep flashing different combinations and you'll eventually find a good Custom ROM/kernel/overclocking/undervolting app mix!

The reson why you dont see any overclocked Roms around is because its not the rom wich overclock the phone its the kernel. and the reson why the kernels are not set to pre overclock is because Two excats phones might overclock diffrently. lets say you have two GT-n7100 they are the same but one might be able to overclock to 2Ghz and the other one might just go to 1800Ghz. it takes testing fro each phone to find the sweet spot in battery drain/performance.

Recently rooted my LG Optimus S and installed a modified version of SlimBean called Bean Whiz, which gives me Android 4.1.2. Also overclocked the 600MHz CPU to 768MHz with SetCPU and set up some profiles in it to save battery when I'm not using the phone (CPU runs slowest possible when screen is off unless Pandora or MOG are being used) or to put it back to 600MHz when charging on AC to ensure that it charges normally. So far I've noticed a large performance boost from this. :)

I've installed jedi rom but now games are lagging badly! Before this my phone was rooted and I was using that over lock app you mentioned. Cool video bro. Just FYI if you want to overclock your s3 running touchwiz ROMs do not enable power save mode. If you have that feature enabled you will not be able to overclock past 1.5 GHz. If you turn it off then you can go as "high" as the kernel will allow.

Yes, check SetCPU App, the pictures on Google Play will show you how overclocking works. It's more than enough information there. Anyways, how is Note III without Touchwiz UI? I thought the dickstick would become useless if you had installed CM over the Samsung' UI...
