I will never understand the need to take selfies, for all I care they could remove the camera entirely as long as I can avoid the notch. Moving the camera to the bottom is perfectly fine for me for sure - not annoying at all.

This phones performance is so amazing that its a complete pay off for a bottom camera that honestly doesn't matter. I can't even remember the last time I took a selfie. Would rather have good phone performance and no notch then care about front camera placement. This phone is awesome

I have the Mi Mix 2 and I absolutely love the phone. However regarding the front facing camera, I prefer it on the bottom rather than the notch. I'd much rather it be on the bottom left corner though. Most people are right handed, so when you go to take a selfie or something, you end up taking a close up image of your thumb rather than what you intended, because it's on the bottom right.

The notch is acceptable only when the phone is completely bezelless....or when it is very small (eg essential ph-1) ...when the phone has a chin, the notch shouldn't be a compromise....All in all , for me (a guy who barely never takes selfies) the chin is a bit more acceptable..

The best solution actually the leak of this Mi Mix 2s which didn’t get to be real. Put the camera on a small notch at the corner. Less annoying but still feel natural

Having the camera at the bottom of the phone is infinitely better than a notch. With a bottom camera you actually get to enjoy *all* of your bezeless beauty. A notch that "sticks into" the display is the antithesis of a bezeless phone. It's not really that hard to turn a phone upside down to use the camera either.

This is a way better solution than the notch, but taking selfies very rarely and usually doing video calls from the laptop, I prefer Vivo's solution with the hidden camera. I would love that to become a trend because like I said: I don't use the front facing camera all that much anyway, so it's nice to have it pop up every once in a while, but it definitely shouldn't affect the screen.

Honestly, I think putting the selfie camera on the bottom is the best way to do it, and I wish more OEMs would do that. We turn our phones all the time to go to landscape. Is it really that annoying to turn your phone over to take a selfie?

Notch vs. front camera on the bottom: I prefer the latter, simply because I almost never use the front camera. And a notch is always there and always annoying, whatever you do. But the future is a design like the Vivo Apex shows, with a complete all display front and a sliding out front camera on the top.

That's a thought that Samsung made for the Galaxy S10. Looks weird to have a small black hole somewhere around the top corners or the bottom corners that would look like as dead pixels, but would be the front cameras :P

I much more prefer the way Xiaomi solved the problem with selfie camera. So far the tech is as such that there is no production ready solution to make the vivo like pop-up camera which might be greta but not cost effective. Other than that i dont take too much selfies so i really like this solution and i was actually holding out for the next version of the mix to have qi charging. So now just to get it :) very awesome phone

The mi mix line came out way b4 IPX was even thought of by it's copycat engineers, with the original mi mix being introduced back in 2016. I'd give credit to Sharp for pioneering the design from which the mi mix phones were born to.
