Andros Island Bahamas Clear Water

This video was shot a while ago on Andros Island Bahamas. We stayed in a bay on the very north tip of Andros near to Nichol's Town. There are not words to describe how beautiful the water is here. It is SO CLEAR! There are amazing reefs just a short swim from where this video was taken. We would snorkel, spear fish, fish, and just enjoy. At night we would walk through the shallow water with a flashlight. It feels like being in a NatGeo documentary. This area does not have 5 star restaurants, or any real shopping to speak of. However, if you want to experience the natural world, there are few places on the planet as nice as Andros.

Hi, I never been there. Is there a lot of empty beaches? I don't mean in the back of resorts, just places you can pull up and walk down to the beach and just chill there with no one in sight. I have been to Eleuthera, Exuma, Cat Island and Long Island and all of them were like that. I hate to get there and have to cut through resorts and little walkways through private residences to get to the beach... I want to know if I should go there next week or just play it safe and head to Eleuthera which was my favorite so far...Thanks!

Hello, I apologize for the delay. Yes, I have been in Eleuthera many times and other islands. Andros Island is very beautiful but also untouched by people. Nature is well preserved. All of the other islands you mentioned are more busy with tourism. We rented a house on north side of Andros island near Morgans Bluff. There were only a few houses on the entire bay and no resorts. That means most of the time the entire bay is yours. Also there are some cool blue holes not too far away. The only down side of this island is that there are a lot of no-seesums as well as Doctor Flies compared to other islands in the Bahamas. Good luck.
