There was a time when I lived in East Texas and I would often stop in Shepherd on my trips to Houston, since it's a nice and quaint little town. So I was pretty excited when Tyler Kolek was drafted second overall. It's a shame that Tyler's career never materialized, and the fact that Stephen was able to Majors this season may be one of life's greatest ironies. Anyways, fun video.

The most enduring image of Nick Gordon I have is him smacking the top of the Target Field dugout in celebration when Royce Lewis smashed a home run in the 2023 postseason. I don't know why that was the celebration he went with, but his brother includes "strange" in his name and doesn't believe that the moon is real. He's an international man of mystery, I guess.

Quick update on Grant Holmes because the feel-good story has continued. He served a very important role in shoring up an absolutely battered Braves rotation as a long reliever and emergency starter. He pitched 66 innings in half a season to a 3.56 ERA, 3.20 FIP. Crazy career bounceback. It seems very likely that he'll be a mainstay in the Braves long relief.

Thanks for recognizing how talented Nola really is. It’s a shame he’s so criminally underrated and he totally deserved to be an all star this year. Philly needs to give him more love to say the least. If he did then he’d have more than just one all star selection. Regardless I think the odds are in his favor to make it to Cooperstown as of right now. Accolades should play a smaller part than they do when it comes to that stuff.

Your choice to have King Kunta as the background music during the sections where you talked about the pitchers who played for the Rockies lowkey might have a deeper meaning, as the lyric “I was gonna kill a couple rappers but they did it to themselves”that is said in that song is similar to the belief that when a good pitcher signs with the Rockies, they probably kill their career. while Freeland's numbers overall are bad this year, he has a 1.71 ERA in his last 26 innings pitched, really wild stats by month, April: 13.21 ERA, May: Injured, June: 1.42 ERA, July, 1.98

I had a feeling Flaherty was gonna be plagued by injuries after he got hurt warming up in the bullpen on opening night when he played for Peoria (class A at the time)

I predicted they'd be a WC team before the season, but it wasn't looking good at the time I made this Trading Flaherty made sense at the time

I'm surprised Brady Aiken isn't talked about nearly as much as Mark Appel for the biggest MLB bust. Also, I don't know what was happening in sports in 2013 and 14 but the majority of draft classes among all major sports from those two years were pretty awful

I get this class is weak and you need HOF players but I think it’s unlikely either Nola or Turner make the hall. They will both be close but I don’t think either make the cut. Nola has a better shot for sure, with the control he’s got I can picture him pitching until he’s 40 maybe longer. My knock on Turner is that I don’t know how he’s gonna age. He’s really gonna have to rely on his bat in about 2 years. His bat is awesome but the speed is also a big part of his game, can’t picture his legs and subsequently his defense aging super well.
