This scene was probably Andy's highest point in Season 9. I always hated how the writers could just turn his character from being this simple minded office worker with some anger issues to this full out douche of a person. But this one scene alone made me forget all that and gave me the opportunity to like Andy again, even for a little while. Sales and Boss Andy was awesome, Revenge Andy was bad, Confident Andy was the worst, but Inspired Andy brought it all the way back home.

This is my second favorite "The Office" moment. My very favorite is in the last episode when Michael Scott comes back for Dwight's wedding, and the very first thing to come out of his mouth is "that's what she said" I didn't know sad laughter was possible until that moment.
@JackTheePhoenix9 жыл бұрын
Both moments were absolutely golden...totally cried when Michael came back for the wedding...just an awesome show all the way around!
@davesmith89889 жыл бұрын
Those are in my top 3, but the best has to be Michael's last day. Literally the second I realized the whole office worked together to make a musical parody for Michael, I started crying. I couldn't imagine a better gift on his last day, and the song was perfect, "Remember to Call." All Michael ever wanted was to be friends with everyone, and in most of the show, he was just a boss to them, but in the end when all is said and done, everyone was so sincere in wanting to remain friends with him and stay in touch. Then seeing Michael confirm that it would hurt like a motherfucker was the cherry on top. Such feels.
@uncophan9 жыл бұрын
The last episode IMO was probably the best episode. That episode tied up all loose end and Jim and Dwight finally became friends. At the end when Michael showed up to be the best man was perfect.

I understand many The Office fans hate the evolution of Andy's character but in the end I think he is the most genuine one. While some other "insecure" (yet amazing) characters like Michael Scott can only be loved by the audience and some others like Ryan become despicable, Andy is a perfect balance of those two categories and a hyper-realistic human being that cannot find his way through fears, insecurities, expectations (of family and society) and incapability of love. It is tragic, but I and many others can awfully relate to this, and that's why Andy is my favourite character. A mess of a men who didn't know he was in the good old days before he actually left them. But capable of delivering this amazing, heartfelt farewell.

I cried my eyes out at this scene. Like a teething infant. Andy might have been as annoying as hell, but it was obvious throughout the series that he was actually talented (and that Ed Helms was exceptionally talented - that banjo, bloody hell!). Andy was always a figure of fun and not taken seriously, but his feelings ran so much deeper. The fact he used his exit to say goodbye AND demonstrate what he was always capable of was bloody beautiful.

Yep, it's what made the show unique and legendary. Like on the scene with Jim and Michael (on goodbye michael episode) in which they recorded just once (if I remember correctly) and both John and Steve as well as the crew were all tearing up. It doesn't get more real than that. I don't tear up easily, but The Office can easily make you feel like a school girl if you watch it from the beggining.

This is such a genius scene: it works at so many levels. First, it lets Ed Helms give a brilliant performance a very good song. Second, it lets you have some hope for Andy’s future. Third, it lets every other actor in the show have a moment with their pasts with Andy. It’s so complex and yet so simple and touching: I think it must be one of the greatest scenes in television comedy, and it reminds you that comedy can be just as enriching as drama and tragedy 👌🏻 Excuse me, I’m going to watch it again

This show had so many amazing moments. Jim and Pam getting married on the boat. Michael proposing to Holly. Even the moments that broke our hearts like Jim kissing Pam at the end of season 2 while she was still with Roy and Michael and Jim saying goodbye. We laughed and cried with these characters. And during this song we're saying goodbye. This scene had all the elements that made The Office so great. It had the funny (yes I still find Andy calling Jim 'Tuna' funny, but this time it was sad too because it was the last time), it had those subtle looks between characters that are so small yet tell so much, it had so much emotion, and it had heart. I love The Office dearly, and whenever I think about how there'll never be a new episode of this show to watch again, I die a little inside, but then I'm happy because there's so many good memories to go back and relive. After the trainwreck that was season 8, the farewell season was an amazing comeback and a glorious, magnificent ending. RIP The Office. I will remember you.

That's exactly what I thought! That episode where he gets a tattoo is one of my favorites. I honestly didn't think the show would fare well after Steve Carell's exit but Andy held the show together in the 8th season. But suddenly they decide to ruin Andy in the last season. This scene gave me feels. I have to admit. I always liked Andy. Always seeking acknowledgement from his friends because inside he always felt small. In later season's they showed how his father's treatment of him affected his personality. This scene and also the bit in the last episode when all those people are lined up to meet the cast. And they see Andy and start shouting Roo doo doo dooooo. Oh man. Brings tears. And he gave the best quote about life when he said something like 'I wish we had a way to know we are in the good ol' days when we're in them'. Best character ever.

One of the best episodes of the entire series. The best part about the Office was it's ability to go from comedy to a dramatic moment without missing a beat.

Great to see Ed Helms performing a beautiful song without the Nard dog's intricacies, specially no high pitched falsettos.

This... this right here is what the office did better than any other show of the type. It always knew how to take a pause from the humour, and show the human and emotional side perfectly. God i miss it.

The look from Erin always moves me. It reminds me of how she used to look at Andy when she was in love with him. Too bad that sweet relationship got ruined by the writers towards the end.

I cry like a bitch because of this moment. The way Andy was picking his dream, than job, than dream again... The way he was a bit too much that day for everyone... Especially when he came back with the guitar to sing this song. Everyone was just rolling their eyes, he was really too much not welcomed. But somehow he insisted and performed. And it was SOOOO big, it was so damn talented, that everyone just got stoned. It is very powerful. I cry because I see myself in Andy. Every little detail about this guy is so much about me. And I feel.every turn of his life like my own. This is a very emotional moment for me personally. But the scene is amazingly strong and true on so many levels that it's hard not to cry. Andy is really talented and Ed Helms is an amazing actor and musician. The Office is so much more than the Friends for me. I cried when the friends were done but I replayed this song literally tens of times and cryied like a kid. It's powerful. Thanks for The Office.

How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun Want to feel your warmth upon me I want to be the one I will remember you, will you remember me? I think this is the only time in the whole show that Andy sang without his annoyingly exaggerated voice cracks and vibrato and truly displayed his real talent. It kinda speaks to how he hid behind a facade of obnoxious confidence when he sang all the time, but now he has a chance to perform from the heart and everyone wants to listen to him he drops the bullshit and shows his genuinely beautiful voice. Just my opinion

Ed is, and always will be, a tremendous performer. I don't know why Andy never sounded this good until the end. I guess they wanted him to go out with a bang. Ed's band, The Lonesome Trio, has a song called "Whiskey Drink." Makes me cry every time I hear it. As does this. The Office will forever be missed. :'(

I think the saddest episode was when Michael left he did not have it in him to say goodbye to everyone, only Jim found out and Pam I always wondered what Pam told Michael when they took their audio equipment off in the airport?
@dakota4379 жыл бұрын
Actually the directors asked her to go and talk to Steve off the record (Just Steve and Jenna, not Pam and Michael) about how she felt about him and how much she was gonna miss him, and it took her about 5-6 mins in doing so and then they asked her to do it again (As Pam this time) in less than 2 minutes

Why did people hated Andy’s character. Its literally one of the best on the show. Literally my top 4. Micheal, Dwight, Toby and andy
@akshatgulati74604 жыл бұрын
It's all so good. The fact that Andy was hated due to his stick up to the boss attitude in the beginning. I'm surprised how they build his character. It's all so perfect. I can't imagine anyone else playing Andy except for Ed Helms. Andy and Erin - Well, they obviously didn't end up together. Else it would have been another Jim and Pam replica (receptionist and salesman). The moral is you don't get everything as you expect in your life. Sometimes you just wait for the best things to happen. Andy getting his dream job at Cornell and ending up the show with the quote "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them" is way better than just Andy and Erin being together. This show was perfect!
