Due to popular demand I am bringing back the series 'Worst Firsts' as a podcast!
Actor and lead singer of Black Veil Brides Andy Biersack AKA Andy Black joins Brittany to talk about his wild youth, including being blackout drunk for most of 2015 and one his first times touring with his band and playing for a group of 4. While in Chicago, Andy got into a giant car accident that left his van totalled, relinquishing it to the first tow truck to show up, only to find out it was a scam and they just stole it. He also talks about the freaky similarities between his lyrics and his grandfather's eulogy and the time he played a show after a devastating tsunami in Japan.
Check out Andy and Brittany on Amazon Prime's "Paradise City" here:

Andy's just turned into such a beautiful human being. I love how he talked about mental health and taking those "disabilities" and turning them into something that could be a gift. I think that's the best advice for people with disabilities, at least it is for myself.

Great podcast. Andy is the best. His wit and ability to carry on a conversation and respond to the interviewers comments and connect storylines to something he referred to or said earlier. I could have listened to this going on for hours.

The fact that Andy was 16 and going to Chicago to his first gig, getting into a car wreck, getting his van stolen, walking the streets of Chicago alone, no money etc lol That gives me so much anxiety. Its great that Andy's parents were so cool and not only came to get him but also that they were so supportive of his dreams. When I was 16, I was ecstatic when my mom let me take the family van and drive my friends to IHop thirty minutes away 😂

In regards to the section he is discussing people who as kids everyone praises. That was my sister. Creepy level. Her IQ upper 160's I think it is 168. I grew up behind her and literally my parents gave me the art realm, because they wanted to give me something to be mine. I am dyslexic, but around 5 grade self taught myself tricks so people stopped riding my ass about B's and C's, "You're just being lazy" it was the 80's before all that diagnosed. My son ended up in our 3rd grade teachers class and even decades later she was still praising my sister as though she was a God:/ Creepy level praise. "How is you sister doing! She finished the whole school library by the time she entered my class and she was recommending books for the class." The whole year my son was in her class. Turns out I wasn't stupid, but following that well... Good thing I had soccer and drawing. Years later she is working on her 3rd Master's and still coming to terms that she didn't solve anything grand like those who treated her as The Great Hope told her she'd do. So he is 100% spot on in his theory. Over praise of the talented can really, really mess people up. Given topic repopped up. Trade school option saved me. Jr./ Sr. year option Penta. Also, my dad empathized with me. First chapter, first paragraph/ last paragraph of a few chapters in between and last chapter. Learned that all A's even when I got a waste of paper associates. Now other thing to teach kids like us who learned how to build a Gazebo by skipping school and watching this old house type shows. Teach kids what teachers ask on test. Did this for both my kids, and they were placed in gifted and praised by their teachers like my sister. Reality they are brilliant on things they are actually interested in, but just able to b.s. well enough to get through it. When my sister started college my cousin who was legal was moving to NYC, so I got her old ID. Why she didn't give it to my sister who is older no idea, but it was awesome. 15, and I was buying my sister booze and her OU friends. Drinks at the Swindle Fiish. Comical. Right after I got my temps by a week. They were home for holiday. I ended up DDing for them when we met her friend Joe from Fremont and ended up in Rising Sun. Sleeting 10 people in our friends Tracker. My sister shot gun screaming the Gandarva's. Given not my area I was like no idea where I'm even at guys. The one girl who we didn't even know was like I don't know where Joe lives, but I know where this guy lives. Every time I rolled down the window to see in the snow sleet. Our friend Ginger was like I'm cold roll up the window. We made it there:D I had a lot of fun with my cousin's Id:D Poor kids today just don't get the random fun of stories of well I survived and it worked out. They are self reporting themselves. My son constantly getting me in trouble with my husband, because he can't manage a lie of omission. I'm way more chill then my husband, because well my kids isn't at all as bad as I was being. Given I did it all in my youth I never had drinking issues, or anything unlike my more straight laced family that when they did finally let go they had no concept of moderation, or logic of I have to get out of bed tomorrow. I might have injuries I didn't properly treat as well. I think it is an Ohio thing walk it off you'll be fine. I once had to drive myself to the ER after stopping home first to get my dad's opinion on if I should have it looked at. 22 stitches and it was about an inch deep:D lol My mom is still upset at my dad and I about that one. As a girl though I didn't want to look weak. I went into landscaping, so male dominate field. Also walked on lvl 2 near 3 tendon tear and ligament damage for a week before breaking down and having it looked at. same reason. So yay other Ohioan with suck it up mentality:D Very last thing : The cathartic thing. I had that in 3rd grade same reason. Davis Bessie one of the worst nuclear power plants in the world. My parents painfully honest about realities of things like that. Watching On The Beach, etc... So yup a learned early Im unimportant and this thing that scares the shit out of me Well f it can't do anything about it I'm 9. A we're all going to die, so may as well play it out until the end. I'd HATE living forever. My husband opposite. He wants to download himself into a robot. Statistically speaking you'd end up under ruble, or horribly in long term pain. From things like not having injuries treated. That sounds of literal Hell to me.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Paradise City. Brittany you never looked better. Loved your PC character!! PC is a crazy crazy ride folks so strap in!!! Andy Black is amazing (of course). He's such a pro. Bella Thorne was just scary fantastic. She is awesome in the movie GIRL as well. I know she gets flack personally but mark my words, she is going to win an academy award for her acting one day!! She leaves nothing on the table. I love how Sumerian has showcased their artists throughout the PC series!!! Nita Strauss is a force to be reckoned with in her own right. Juliet Simms is wonderful and beautiful. It is a shame she didn't play Gretchen. I didn't know about Cameron Boyce and I cried. He was such a bright light. He oozed such a beautiful life force. You can just see it when you look at him that he was special!

I'm at the 4:02 mark but I'm going to be one of those annoying people that comments early. 1) Fairuza Balk was really good in "Return to Oz" When she was I think only 8 or 9. Have you seen it? It's kind of dark for a children's movie, but it's really freaking good. I highly recommend. 2) Canada does NOT get to watch your show on Amazon Prime, so I'm pissed at them for that. I hope that they will eventually let us watch it, too. 3) I think that's it. Ok, thank you for listening to my Ted Talk. eh!

I'm not going to get into the education system because it is completely f***ed now... but i'm y'all's age, and back then many schools were still at a great learning advantage for the students. I still only write in cursive, and it's because it's what I was taught. To be fair, those back then thay taught us that were being truthful. It was important...No, today no one does, but that's because it went way and they stopped teaching it in school. Think up until the point where we graduated when everyone DID write, it was always in cursive: Peers your age, moms, dads, grandparents. It was super important back then. It was classy, professional, and if you didn't know how in that time, you were considered unintelligent. Today it's not like that. If you stop teaching it, people stop learning it, & they certainly stop using it. That's just a single example of times changing (for better or worse), but back then our teachers didn't see that coming. Now, I have to literally force myself to write in print just because kids can't read my writing. 80% of kids back then did not want to go to school..that's always been the case (with it higher now than ever, but it's never been something "FUN", it's just been something u have to sac up and do). [Cursive just being one example of this, since you mentioned it.]

Freeing feeling I agree and came to this same conclusion. Just a mere mortal. Loving it though. Life is amazing regardless.

when you guys are talking about all the disasters Andy's experienced and how he feels odds are it won't happen again, it totally reminded me of the Robin Williams movie "The World According to Garp" when the plane crashes into the house and he buys it anyway cuz "it's been pre-disastered!" lol (great movie if you haven't seen it btw)
