Great American pro style vs great Cuban amateur style. If they’re boxing amateur, Andy wins most times. In the pros I expect Keyshawn to take it with a more economical style and showing more power.
@SuicideJones3311 ай бұрын
*Andy won all times. Davis silver Medals are all because Cruz beat him for Gold. Either way, we will hopefully get to see soon enough. Got to think Cruz has a mental edge over Davis having beaten him all those times as an amateur. Keyshawn can either take those losses and use it as a fire to spur him on to beat Cruz, or it can undermine his confidence. Time will tell, but they have to fight at some point.

@@Arman... No shit. It's still someone who outboxed you. It's a variation on the sport but it's still the same sport. He still hit you more times than you hit him. As Floyd and many others have said, boxing is the art of hitting and not getting hit. It for sure gives a mental edge. Someone stopped you from winning an Olympic Gold Medal and two World Championships. Competitors carry that with them and it can make them or break them. Look at how Bowe ducked Lennox. Threw his belt in the trash rather than defend it to Lewis.

@@SuicideJones33 it’s not the same. Andy can hit Keyshawn more times in the pros and still lose the round/ fight unlike in the amateurs where it’s strictly about touches and all punches count equally. Their styles give them natural advantages in each game. Keyshawn got to the pros and continued to develop his same style. Andy has had to change his style more because the Cuban style is made for the amateurs, similar to the Eastern European style. Keyshawn also doesn’t believe he should’ve lost every fight to Andy so he’s not looking at him like a guy he can’t beat.

Felix Trinidad had a raised back heel and was unstable in footing, he was knocked down early in some fights due to poor balance. When the back heel is raised, generally, the back power hand is the primary punch. When the opposite, the jab is preferred. This was also evident in this fight.
@Charlessalbox4 күн бұрын
Terence Crawford, Gervonta Davis and Inoue also have raised back heels. Flat back heels result in a slower backhand. The raising of the back heel improves the speed in both punches but significantly more the back hand. Balance should be trained and improved for the raising of the back heel to be a standardised feature in the stance. Limiting oneself to both feet being flat is a convenience of the untrained.

This camera review favors Cruz more than keywshawn...😊
This is probably a pro fight that will eventually happen, and despite Keyshawn having 4 amateur losses to Cruz, it looks like it will be far more of a toss-up in the pros. Most of Keyshawn's best shots in this fight were body shots, which in the amateurs, are not only not scoring but also don't pay off any later in the fight because the fights are so short. Either way, though, this fight absolutely does not need to be happening in the pros yet when both guys are still very early in their careers.

Keyshawn wins. Clean shots between defense and effective aggression makes his case for the true ring general….controlled Andy with the Jab and basically anchored center ring behind his jab. Score occasional flashy combos with blocked missed shots and footwork all you want; that agility over the course of 12 pro rds will fold to the cleaner shots being landed. Lead jab, stab body jab and inside body shot counters, which was landing in a small 3 rd sample will ultimately slow down that movement of Andy over 12 pro rds. It’s boxing…and it’s built for last man standing. Andy’s footwork and agility is nice for the first leg of 12 rds, however he’s already timed and measured by Keyshawn to be broken down. Andy’s extra wasted movement along with eating shots will be taxing on his body over 12 rds. You can have your debatable amateur 3 rds, 🇺🇸🥈 silver bullet is built on last man standing for the pros. …..and what’s with Andy raising his right hand after every missed right hand he throws? Why does he always feel compelled to sell the right hand he’s throwing to the judges?
@Charlessalbox11 ай бұрын
A lot of wishful thinking but I will say this, it would be wise for Keyshawn not to enter the fight expecting Andy not to be able to handle the course of the 12 rnds doing what he does best. Andy won't move as much due to the fact that everyone slows down. However his speed of punch and reaction with movement is what Andy will have over Keyshawn. The raising of the hand is more acknowledging the strike to your opponent than to the judges... this is developed in shoulder tap drills.
@PUGiLLiZM11 ай бұрын
@@Charlessalbox Fair to say Andy will over react. I’d give Andy the edge if he was more comfortable and poise staying in the pocket with Keyshawn. He’d have to use those reflexes you mentioned towards slipping, dipping, pinning, peeling framing, catching and shooting…especially if he’s not going to be able to separate himself with a better lead hand and jab. But as you can see, it’s Keyshawn who’s more willing and ready to stand his ground and test those reflexes. Andy’s bounce, movement leads him into unfavorable positions to counter Keyshawn. His movement is dedicated towards a range of disengagement instead of engaging to make Keyshawn miss and make him pay. Those are the differences …thanks for the boxing talk haha. If you have ever boxed before you know how hard it is to look good against a guy who keeps switching like that. I don't blame Keyshawn he should stay far away from Cruz.

Andy beat him 4 times. Keshawn is a very good fight but he's not a great fighter. You can see his punches from a mile away. Mr Ennis has been doing a great job just watch
@JerzyytheCosmic1 Жыл бұрын
Are you delsuional? Keyshawn has the potential to be great. Just like Andy. They're neck and neck here. Out of their 4 fights 3 were split decisions.

O don't see it these guys way to cautious , one has to be better and that would have come out of they would have just got down from the opening bell , waisting time to see what's up that's my opinion , there just looking for and easy out and hope they get lucky , why wait jump on you guy and go

Am I missing something? The pros are different no pitty pap period wait to punches get turned over in twelve rounds kick in lol!

Keyshawn is a ring General and has developed so much as a professional boxer. Definitely he will outclass Cruz

No ties in the ammys. In the pros Back in the 80s and before they didnt have draws. It was 15 rounds. Only in the 90s did they change the rules to 12 10 8 6 and 4 rounders.

Keyshawn Davis better have a world class chin and punch because he doesn't have world class reflexes to compete at the professional world class level as a boxer. The only other way is if he has world class timing like a Juan Manuel Marquez, Ricardo Lopez type. Andy Cruz looks special as an amateur so will be interesting to see him as a pro.

I’m not sure what match you were watching. The one I just watched, I had Keyshawn winning every round my brother!

You're scoring based on the pros, in which case you would be correcy, but, this is amateur, KD lost badly

jumping around? Cruz was landing the cleaner and more shots too
