I totally agree with you on the accents. I am glad the show evolved, toning the “southern” down, making Andy’s persona less forced, and letting the gold that was Don Knots shine!

So, Andy Griffith also served as a "technical consultant" for the series. Good to know! Thanks for the video, Bob!

He reverted to a reserved character to give Don Knotts plenty of latitude and then came in to save the day.

Andy Griffith tossed so many ideas into the trash can and morphed into Oscar the Grouch. lol! BTW, welcome back Gomer Pyle on at night again starting tonight. Shazam!

Yes Gomer is back and it's about time. I've always liked Jim because he was patriotic and loved this country. RIP Jim.

I love ❤️ the Andy Griffith Show. They don't have shows like that on tv anymore. I liked the stories on the Andy Griffith Show. My favorite episode was the 🥒 pickle story. Good video bob

Well, it all worked out in the end. Back when the shows could take some time to hit their stride. Hey Bob? Could you remind us which episodes of TAGS won as favorites for the first 5 seasons? Thanks 😊

So many think once barney left, and warren replaced him, show went downhill While not a huge warren fan, I think the story topics are to blame Aunt bees wig, sleepwalki g warren, the Hollywood party , goodbye dolly? Those are serious stinkers even for die hards like us
@MaryEverling11 күн бұрын
The character of Warren was only in 7-8 episodes

Im aware Due to supposed extreme unpopularity, they released him mid season It's shameful there was.nary an explanation for his absence ANY castmember mentioning it once would suffice Perhaps suggest siler city needed an acting sheriff, his uncle needs him to manage a shooting range, etc Viewers deserve better

Too many folks outside the South act like folks down here are complete idiots. That's sure not the case. Sheldon Leonard should have hired some writers from the South. Female writers would have helped too. Ironically, one over the top character was a Southern female writer in Crime Free Mayberry. Wouldn't many Southerners have known carp and pike were also names of fish? The show did get better. I still don't think Opie would have called so many grownups by their first names. Those writers deserved some pay for those sessions. Did the union ever catch on? Aaron Ruben must have played a big role in the scripts too. HIs leaving to oversee Gomer Pyle USMC was another blow to TAGS.

Did I miss something? What was the reason he rejected certain scripts?

I disagree I loved the accent in season 1. I found it authentic, not campy. looky thar. that's a handy dandy little item
