Beautiful to hear and see. Taylor keeps pushing the boundaries of design and challenging the status quo. I love it!

So, what is the beveled armrest made of? Andy never finished explaining that part (7:47 on) after he said he wanted it to match the other wood this time and not use a different color to offset the look (which would’ve looked classy too!).

Nice! I would like to see an 812BE in the future for my aging hands. Could that be in the future?

Tell him to bring back the X bracing. V class guitars sound less inspiring and sterile.

As the Adirondack top now has three times as many joints as the traditional two piece top, are there now three more potential points of failure over time, versus the two piece tops?

I'm no luthier but a 4 piece top seems like a terrible idea... The V-class was another terrible idea, they sound thin to me! I went for a Furch Yellow Master's Choice Gc-CR instead of Taylor because of these types of "innovations" from Andy Powers. No doubt the Taylors are aesthetically appealing and have very playable necks... But Furch has those same qualities in a more boutique level instrument that simply sounds better to my ears.

I build furniture at times as a hobby. Most solid tops are glue ups of several or more pieces .The concept of a four piece top is no more vulnerable to failure than a two piece. This is true with equal attention to preventing humidity and temperature extremes. In most cases , a failure is not at the glue joint as the glues these days are far superior to those in the past. I guess I’ll stay out of the bracing pattern argument. I do wish someone locally carried Furch so I could try one.

The bottom line is how it sounds. That one seems great. It's certainly beautiful. Pushing things forward benefits everyone. A bunch small steps lead to huge strides over time. The four pieces of the top will probably be more evident once the sun colors the wood, but who cares if it sounds great. Being able to use smaller pieces of wood opens up the supply of available wood. I want one.

I’m sure at one point people hated extending guitar necks to 14 feet joints. Keep pushing the instrument. If you need someone to review one, I’m wholly mediocre and would love to give one a try.

Seems to sound nice in the video but there is a blending between pickup and mic audio. Who knows....

I dont want to sound cynical but a 4 piece top? Is this what happens when “Big Guitar” runs out of wood and decides to market their way out of the hole?

4 piece top, less price, cheaper sound board in smaller board, change of sides that is a little smoother, with gotoh tuners IS NOT worth that price. V brace is already a tell tale that made the Taylor sounds thinner with LESS Wood AND cost. More profits for you guys, but quality wise, SORRY. I had a 614ce - 2014 that the wood has been opened up many years later, and Still very thin sounding compared to even an Epiphone Masterbilt guitar. Sold it as well. Sorry Andy please go back to your traditional bracing and build. Looking nice doesn't mean it will sound nice. 🤦
