I have a 2012 Pure Drive Roddick Plus (used a handful of times, brand new) ....... the specs are 337g strung......... 33cm balance...... and 328 swingweight. Very Nice frame when strung @ 60 pounds with Pro Hurricane mains and Babolat VS gut crosses. Keeping it as a collectable and use it every now and then, being a Roddick fan and knowing it was the last model he used before retirement.

If he wants to try other racquets that may not have an extended version, he could look at headlight racquets and get them professionally extended to 27.5. If he wanted to try head racquets, you can swap the pallet out and also keep the grip shape he is used to.

I had a Pure Drive Roddick many years ago and used it for about 6 months. The problem is that about once a month, I'd hit the ball the wrong way and it would twang my hand and it would feel numb for a few minutes. I eventually gave it to a nurse who took care of me after surgery who was a tennis player. I'd have no idea what he should use as my game is more of a counter-puncher all-court - not a big serve and volley and heavy topspin player.

How do you feel about a Yonex Percept, either 97 or 100D for Andy's game? Most notably Hurkacz and Tiafoe use something similar, and have a similar game to Andy.
@outcometechnology
@outcometechnology 10 ай бұрын
No extended options in the Percept silo. Much better off with an EZone 100+, but the BlackOut XTD and Nova+ would likely be even better fits, as he's used to playing with a classic oval-shaped head. I'd probably be inclined to point him to the BlackOut, as the layup would be the most similar to what he's used to (no foam; not much dampening).

Head PT57A. Like the one in this video I believe with the liquid metal prestige paint jobb.. 18/20 gut or multi hybrid.. great for Andy's knifing slice. He should focus his game on precision rather than power. Over the years he has removed his left hand from his racket and hits a one handed slice.. power at a later age will only promote injury.. he needs a scalpel not a hammer..

I'm happy to see a suggestion for Wilson. I left a comment on Andy's channel suggesting the same, however, for a racquet with a less than 100sqin head. What an incredible development it would be for Andy to find a new creative spirit with the brand of racquet that caused him so much hardship for ten years in the hands of his nemesis. And, from an American company no less. (I know, I know. Don't light me up) Cheers

I played with his racquet that my buddy had for a while and if memory serves me it’s swirly 27.5 345 strung maybe 8-9pts headlight. Silicone in the handle multiple lead trips on 3 and 9 arranged so they overlap almost recreating Wilson pws. Having played with it I would say solinco is almost exact copy of how his racquet felt. Btw I am not sure why he does not want to play with babolat anymore but he almost single-handedly put them on the map in USA market. They should give him whatever he wants.

I bought a second hand Pure Drive Roddick. Insane power. Great for serving. But I couldn't control it on the ground strokes. I had to shorten my swing to the point where I was just bunting the ball, which the opposite of what I should have been doing. It takes a lot of skill to play properly with a racquet like that.
