I looked forward to this show each Saturday morning right after Crusader Rabbit (The 1 hour compilation made from the 5 minute episodics) on WNBC, Channel 4 in NY.

Just turned 71 and watched this every saturday morning on CH 4 in NYC. MIDNIGHT THE CAT!😄😄😄FROGGY THE GREMLIN! Billy Gilbert was famous for his roles in the Hal Roach comedies of the early 30’s especially Little Rascals and Laurel and Hardy.

HUSBAND SPEAKING - I AM AGE 79 SO I WAS 12 IN 1955. I WATCHED ALL THE KIDS PROGRAMS ON SATURDAY'S , NOT MUCH ELSE TO DO THEN. LOVED HIS STORIES AND THE COOKIE CHARACTERS ON THE SHOW, ESPECIALLY FROGGIE.

My most favorite show! I love “ Mid Night the Cat” and Squeaky the Mouse! But most of all Froggy. And of course Andy Divine closed his show with Get to Sunday School, can you imagine if everyone went to Sunday School!!! It would be a better place….. Good night Andy see you soon in Beulah Land!!!! It's a mind blower to see this again after all these years. I loved that nasty frog so much my dad brought one home for me. I had to have been SO young. (Born in'55). In Froggy and the Warner Bros cartoons, I see the seeds of my own twisted sense of humor. Watching this now, I can only wonder what those poor animals must have gone through.

Wow..What a great show that was👍! Andy’s Gang was a little before my time(I was born in 1956) and probably the baby in the comment section, but I enjoyed it! Andy Devine was a classic!

I never saw any of these shows as e did not have a TV at the time. And I graduated from high school in 53 and then went to college from 54 to 57. Did not watch TV Saturday mornings. Interesting.

There is just SO MUCH joy & delight in this old televised Americana! Numerous years ago I got into computer restoration of vinyl records. My results were never half as good as yours are here, but it gave me an understanding of just how much time and focus is required. It's beyond intense, if not, utterly grueling! You are to be HIGHLY APPLAUDED, which is NOT enough, so I'm going to look into purchasing some of your efforts. I hope as much is possible!

It did not take much to entertain kids back then. These kid shows were popular on Saturday mornings. I always liked Andy as he reminded me of my uncle.

Froggy used to give the guy during the cooking (pasta fazoo) lesson. Kids a kids I am a going to show you how to make Fasta fazo. Just before the chef would say” then you crack the eggs in the bowl, Froggy would say “then you crack the eggs on your head.” he would then crack the eggs on his head much to the delight of the kids who were doing back flips in their seats hahaha.

24K views after a year. I am pleased to give an upvote and to read your info and your efforts to preserve this film. NYC area (I thought it was only a local show but maybe I am thinking of Romper Room. At age 72, I forget what history I read.) Great show back then. (footnote) We had a B&W TV (which I use as an excuse of why I dream in B&W). Dad considered Howdy Doody show stupid. footnote; find the other episode by this uploader. He has a plea at the end to help preserve his archives. PS re the other episode; it was way better in the 50's than seeing it now. Was there really a studio audience? Filmed in Hollywood. The Rama episodes DO have staying power in 2023

Trivia item: Andy was in a Western movie and said the line "That was awfully white of you." Do not read more into that from a different era. Just like I never thought elephants (in this show) could be trained like horses. Now a days we want them to be free. PostScript. After finding the other video, and realizing the cat & mouse did not carry to 2023 well, I looked up the whole Plunk ... expression. Twang is understandable, but a twanger is a stretch as a noun circa 1611. Yet, for slang, the full sentence refers to pleasing yourself in a way I choose not to explain here. Understand what a yo-yo is? Not the one on a string

Mahoots bonding with their elephants.. My dad had lived in India and I grew up hearing stories of India. Like collected dung for a fire...and then making chapattis without washing their hands ! And the invasion of a big cat that almost took out the inhabitants of a hut. So much for the TV show. But Froggy was a kick !

I liked the cat but not the frog. Back then there was only three channels. There was always something worth watching. Today 100 channels and nothing worth watching. Buster Brown shoes lasted a long time but were not comfortable at all.

I believe this was filmed with no audience. They just edited in clips of the kids screaming. Poor Andy Devive. He could not get any movie roles so he had to do this to survive.
