I just love how Andy called himself a gray man. He was part of Dev Group, jet pilot, world record holder with a wing suit. Yeah right “grey man”. In reality a total stud and operator ❤️🇺🇸.

IMO,out of all the military related podcasts and definitely out of the SEAL related ones,Andy comes off as the guy/SEAL that's the most well rounded out of all of them. Its a toss up for me as to which SEAL hosted/owned podcast is my favorite, but AS & SR seem to be the two hosts of my two favorite p-casts, if you can guess which two p-casts those are. Jack's ok as long as he allows his guests to get the most speaking time during each p-cast.

Listening to Jack Carr talk to Andy Stumpf is an epic experience. I felt like a kid in the presence of idols as Jack asked Andy specifics about his time in the teams. These are all the questions I'd love to get answers to and hearing them speak to each other demanded my full attention and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend!

Great podcast, always love hearing about Virginia Beach, it always brings a smile to my face when I hear it mentioned in your books. I've lived my whole life here (46 yrs) and used hear the guys on the ranges closer to Camp Pendleton on the north end of Dam Neck while I was out surfing. Back then I didn't realize who was training there but now I understand why we would get chased off the beach so quickly if the current dragged too far south. On book 3 now and can't wait for this one. Now I live at the North-end of VB off Shore Drive across from Little Creek and enjoy listening to the team guys training at night, the sounds of Helo's hovering and the sounds of the BMG's on the range.. Good stuff!!

You're not wrong, The 90's were kind of the cowboy days when it came to CAS. FAC/ TACP was the 90's version of JTAC, but in certain jobs and communities, enlisted controllers were allowed, but no formal school or qualification (USN/USMC) was established. The USAF did however, with their TACP program. I called in way more air in the 90's as a billeted Enlisted FAC than I did as a qualified JTAC in the 2000's.
