For clarification, this wasn’t a “concert” in the traditional sense (for that, look for shows he names “Call The Police” from South America). This was an evening intended to highlight his photography (he’s a very accomplished photographer), telling stories and playing guitar to backing tracks. It was a lot more low-key than seeing The Police in a 20,000-seat arena, and that was fine with me. I didn’t catch any of his solo songs on film; I wish I had.

Maybe it would have worked better if he had 'performed' together with a singer. Instrumental Police songs: will that ever be nice to listen to? I personaly don't think so.

Give him a break. He's 80 years old, didn't even get a writing credit for 'every breath you take' and he's just out there doing his thing. One of the great guitarists of all time

Wow just wow. You naysayers suck. Ageism is dangerous place to go. I hope I'm doing what I love at age 80. This man inspired my whole generation with a completely UNIQUE guitar style .. which doesn't happen often. There's nothing sad about this. I'm glad he's putting it out there .. I hope to see him soon.

Guess the critics here missed Andy when he was playing in the biggest band in the world, selling out arenas and dominating the charts. And by the way, this seems to be just a videographer who filmed this show, not like he was somehow commissioned by AS, so don't be critiquing Andy for the stage sound.

To be fair, this is a bad recording that sounded much better in person. One bum note doesn't ruin it. No telling what it may have felt like on stage. Respect!

I think that’s something overlooked about Andy. I tried learning some Police songs, and about the only one that wasn’t painful to play was “Roxanne”. His chord shapes and arpeggios are beasts!

As a guitarist and photographer myself, I tried hard to get both the screen and Andy in the video, with admittedly sometimes mixed results. In person, I thought that the combination of Andy’s photography and the moody soundscape of his guitar style worked really well together.

Of all the, 'isms' ageism is the most stupid… EVERYONE gets old… if you are lucky that is!! The passing of time is blind to colour, creed, gender or belief.. look in the mirror and ask yourself what have you achieved so far and how many years can you hold the same amount of that achievement before your self-important ego decides to criticise the efforts of others.

Not really a good concept for a show , especially from a talented musician like Andy . I think when he listens back to this he will realise it’s not very good at all . This is the sort of thing I used to do back in the 80s when I first started playing guitar. Playing along to songs very badly . He has redeemed himself with his excellent interview with Rick Beato though . Check it out !
