I would even take it one step further and say that CCR is one of those few bands where I literally like every song in their catalog. Literally every song is really good to me. And each of their many many songs has its own distinct personality and feel. And they do have some longer songs as well; I bet you would be blown away by their song Effigy. And then a fantastic party banger that's long and hypnotic with a great groove is Chooglin'.

This song among others like “ Going Up The County “ by Canned Heat ‘68 were part of the Hippie “ back to the land” movement. Woodstock was ‘69 and “Up Around The Bend” is 1970. Many songs fed into this living off the land idea.

If you want something a little bit different from CCR, try Someday Never Comes. It was from their last album before they broke up, and was the only song on it worth listening to, pretty much by design. There is a whole backstory to that album, which I won't bore you with right now, but that song to me shows the growth of John as a songwriter, and is a must hear for fans of CCR.

Happy Monday! The opening riff of this song is so cool. As much as I want y’all to hear CCR’s original version of “Proud Mary,” the CCR song I really want y’all to react to next is “Suzie Q.” It’s a bluesy remake of the 1957 song “Susie-Q” by Dale Hawkins. It has a killer drum intro and a dirty guitar riff. Sauce all day long.

Picking up CCR's "Chronicle Volume 1" is an excellent choice for any beginning listener to CCR or classic rock music from the 60's and 70's in general. You got 20 straight-up bangers one after another. I think of all the greatest hits albums that are out there, it's one of the most essential and one of the best bangs for the buck. However... It doesn't have either Born on the Bayou or Ramble Tamble on it. Those are, to my ears, CCR's 2 best songs. There are several other classics, you'd be missing, as well. Songs like "Cotton Fields," "It Came Out of the Sky," "Wrote A Song For Everyone" and "Effigy." So, while in the short term, "Chronicle Volume 1" is essential, if you're in it for the long haul, you've got to pick up at least 4 albums in "Bayou Country," "Green River," "Willy And The Poor Boys" and "Cosmo's Factory." As consistent as "Chronicle Volume 1" is, so are these 4 albums. 14 of the 20 songs on "Chronicle Volume 1" come from those 4 albums, including 7 from Cosmo's Factory alone.

My favorite greatest hits album when I was a teenagers in the early seventies was by Three Dog Night and The Guess Who. Also enjoyed the hell out of those by The Grass Roots, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap and The Association, but these last three aren't quite up there with the first two and CCR.

Excellent band through the years, were always one of my most listened to groups. John's roughish voice and the compositions were just rocking. A+

It's amazing how skilled CCR is at capturing a feeling. Being young, and last minute you and your friends decide to jump in the car for a weekend road trip. This song literally embodies that feeling.

The sound of this band is what I used to experience when going to a bar in the 70's and early 80's and hearing a great rock band playing to 100 people drinking crappy beer and packing the dance floor. This song brought those memories back. Great pick and reaction!
