Dear Sir, I followed your video on lighting. It was very helpful and clear. I am a Maths teacher by profession .I am trying to make some online videos to my kids who are staying at home due quarantine, with little resources I have. I made home made stands for lighting and converted my selfi stick to tripod as am using my phone to record videos. However I have a big concern with my set up as 2 light sources except for the back light, get reflected from the whiteboard making 2 glowing spot on it. could you please help me on this? I do have photos to send to you could you please help me to sort this out? if you can reply to this email: hasunsri@gmail.com it would be a great help. Thank you so much!

wow your video is the easiest one among the others. I have nikon d90 but I dont know how to change the video settings. can you help. What about the sound?
@makeupmental10 жыл бұрын
Hi PDC Ghada !!! He mentioned : "The lower the ISO (cameras sensitivity)" Meaning the lower the number, the better the sound. (without the noise that is) The noise he's mentioning is the digital noise from your surroundings. I also agree, that this video has helped a lot. I recall you saying that you have the Nikon d90? First things first, make sure that you're in Movie Settings. At the top right side of your camera, there should be a nob that you can turn. (It should read Guide, Auto, M,A,S,P and etc.) Make sure that your nob is on the letter "M". "M" stands for the movie mode. Once your camera is on M, turn the camera on. On the back of the monitor, beside it onto the left you should witness five circled buttons. The first button onto the left should be the Play button, the second, should say Menu. Click onto the Menu button. From there you should see the option Movie Settings. I hope that I have helped you!!! :) OXOXO -Creal

ChaoticMatters Thanks dude.
@oaksong9 жыл бұрын
+Jong-Jong Slownely There are a number of problems with a mirror, the first of which is that it reflects everything, not just light. You want a more indistinct light as a fill, so there are various less reflective surfaces that can be used including plain white board stock you can get at any craft store.
@3manimaniac9 жыл бұрын
oaksong Thanks man!
@leeinqinhuangdao2628 жыл бұрын
+Jong-Jong Slownely I think you could use anything that reflects light, but I think the shinier the surface, the harder and stronger the light will be. Fabrics should soften the light, or even shine the light through a white cloth to diffuse it. Anyway, I am so much of an amateur at this stuff, so I can only suggest that you experiment with different materials. I have used a sheet of white expanded polystyrene before, and I've seen people with huge sheets of the stuff.

First of all, thank you so much for making this video! I appreciate that you didn't just explain how to do the lighting. You also explained why each light is used, how to adjust the camera setting, and everything you could really want to know about the subject. The best part is that you explained in such an understandable way and made sure to explain a couple of times. I have spent so much time watching videos and surfing the internet trying to get a good understanding of lighting and how to look good on camera. I had seen lots of stuff about 3 point lighting but I just couldn't figure out how to try it right. Thank you for explaining why each light goes where. Just thank you. Instant subscribe. Cheers!
