I have had a 3.2 DSG SLine Quattro 2005 for the past 17 years…. But I think it’s finally time to sell it to someone who will love it as much as I have. 133k miles on it and it runs like a top. It’s been the best, lowest cost of ownership car I have ever had.

They definitely are great cars and effortless driving. Drove mine 100 miles to Ypres yesterday and did not miss a beat. I am sure you will miss it when it’s gone!

For me it was a toss up between a low-ish (50-60k) 1.8 or a migher mileage 3.2. I settled for a 3.2 as I bought it as they are rarer and in terms of investment I could see it being worth a lot more as less and less of them remain. The 3.2 I bought is in great cosmetic condition and is a reasonably unique spec too. You wouldn’t know it had done nearly 130k…

I’d take a high mileage car over a low mileage one. If all the history is there and works out then without a doubt. A 20 year old car is still a 20 year old car regardless of how many miles it’s done. Rubber perishes etc and an excuse not to spend money on maintenance in the lower mileage bracket. Where that theory falls down is when the low mileage car has its history maintained regardless of mileage ie age related servicing, that’s the unicorn which everyone wants. Give me a box file brimming full of receipts and invoices and you’ll get my money at your asking price.

Yes absolutely. I know of one or two very low cars, including an exceptional Kingfisher Blue 3.2 that I feature pictures of in the video, that are flawless and have had meticulous maintenance in their 20 years. Those cars are going to be worth a lot of money in the future. I see them as being in TV period dramas in 30 years time when people want to set something in 2005 with a nice car!

Ive bought 2 at 100k ish and 1 at 51k. I did 10k miles in one at 100k in 1 year and it cost nearly 6k just to keep on the road over that year! Ive done 30k miles in the 51k miles one over 2 years so its now 80k and its cost 4.5k over 2 years and that includes some upgrades and optional work. Although the 51k cost over twice as much to buy. 100k miles tt (£2.250) 51k (£6000). 51k was better option for me as i got to enjoy the car more and its spent way less time in a mechanic :)

My 1.8t had 49k on it when I bought it I’ve put 10k on it in 4 years including our trip to Nurburgring last year My new quattro sport has 157k on it so I’m about to learn first had the differences 😂 condition is one for sure but I guess I’ll have more Maintance work as all the 1.8t needed in 4 years is the power steering pipe :) soon to be forsale tho

I can't ever see the 3.2 V6 becoming super desirable because they put the engine in the MK2. But a Quattro Sport being a limited edition and unique car, would be the model for a collection. But in all fairness these cars are still worthless because of the dross at the bottom of the market, the MOT and scrap man needs to do their thing for another decade or two before they become valuable, they're very robust and corrosion resistant so I can't see the numbers dropping like classics of the past.
@andycharger
@andycharger 5 ай бұрын
Hi. I dont think the mk2 will have too much of an impact. The Mk1 will always be the "original" and the one that collectors will want. With regards to corrosion, one of the big issues with the cars is the subframes rot and they are no longer made. So eventually they will all be gone once the breakers have none left. I can see v6 cars becoming unusable with the subframes all gone! I have a fully restored one hanging in my garage ready for when mine goes the same way.
