I don't think anyone not from Chicago who didn't watch the prime D-Rose years will ever understand just how devastating those injuries were, not just to Rose but to the city of Chicago. He was our home-grown second coming of Jordan (or at least, he was the only Bull ever to live up to the same type of hype), and to have so much hope only to have it completely snatched away was soul-crushing. I personally stopped watching basketball for about 10 years, I'd catch random games but had no desire to get emotionally invested again. Only recently within the past few years have I gotten back into it, and at least the one good thing to come out of it is that Rose at least has had a long, productive career

Bro in 2011-12 I thought this draft was on the way to being THE greatest with 96, 84 & 03… Rose just won MVP, Beasley broke out, Mayo was still hoopin, Westbrook & Love broke out to a borderline superstar that year, Gallinari & Eric Gordon looked like they can make an all star appearance at some point, Lopez & Deandre Jordan were clearly future all stars, Hibbert was an all star, Ibaka broke out to a DPOY candidate, Nick BAtum & George Hill were hoopin. Chalmers was great… I thought this class was gonna be top 5 all time. Still turned out great, shoutout to Dragic 🔥

Brook Lopez was still a very good defensive player while at Stanford. It's just Robin was the defensive grit-and-grind type of center at Stanford who carried that into the NBA. For example, this Brook Lopez triple double was pretty eye popping in the day: January 25, 2007: Stanford vs USC (65-50 W) at Maples Pavilion: 18 pts, 12 blocks, 11 rebounds, 33 minutes Edit: At the time, USC had future NBA coach Tim Floyd, and future NBA players Taj Gibson, Nick Young, and Gabe Pruitt. Gibson was effectively their five, although they started a taller player alongside him.

2008 NBA Draft BEST PLAYERS: Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, Brook Lopez, Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson, Goran Dragić, Serge Ibaka, Danilo Gallinari, Nicolas Batum, George Hill, DeAndre Jordan, Roy Hibbert Two MVPs in one draft is no short order. Although hindsight has really really opened up the debate on whether either Award was truly deserved. Rose won in 2011 because the media (who votes on MVP) was basically mad at LeBron for “The Decision” and refused to give him his third MVP in a row, despite LeBron clearly being the best player. Then, Russell Westbrook basically stat padded his way to an MVP by becoming only the 2nd player to average a triple double for an entire season. Beyond them, Love, Ibaka and Lopez claimed NBA championships as 3rd and 4th guys later in their careers. Gordon and Anderson were elite level snipers from deep at their apexes. Jordan was a walking double double. Dragic was an elite PG. Batum, Hill, and Hibbert all had great runs as role players.

Aging and injuries comes with benefits , and they have to change and adapt their playstyles with provision. It's just serious to think that Derrick has to change his playstyle , to avoid constant injuries. Even Westbrook has to take a bench role to give his energy , spark plug off the bench. Lopez Twins , were really impactful centers , well brook was the really best player than Robin. He really did his best on helping the Bucks win that championship , sorry robin. Kevin Love , giving alot of empty stats , as he tries to sacrifice his stats for a champ . And Eric Gordon , 6TH Man , James Harden , Into 3PT Shooter in Houston Best Years.
