What's Up Everyone! In this video, I show an UNEDITED Heeling training session with a one year old German Shepherd!
A proper and legitimate HEEL command is one of the most difficult things for the average dog owner to train! There are a lot of MYTHS out there surrounding this behavior and even more silly youtube videos on 'how to stop pulling'. Dog training is NOT about STOPPING, it's about BUILDING! BUILD DON'T STOP!!
This training session is absolutely crucial for any dog and owner to master in any and every environment! This will take a lot of time, practice and failure! There are a lot of 'dog trainers' that 'train' Heel for years and still are not good at it! TAKE YOUR TIME AND EXPECT TO FAIL! Do not focus on the finished product!! Enjoy the journey and all the tiny details along the way!
These kind of training sessions are how you will TRULY BOND WITH YOUR DOG!
If your dog 'is good' with a prong collar on BUT 'pulls like crazy' without the prong, THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO HEEL!!!!
Help support my channel and get you a shirt!!!

I've never read a book so fast! kzbin.infoUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU Learning about his dogs and experiences was just the icing on the cake - bed this book through and through. We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.

I love his show and thisjust summarizes and lays out all of the basic methods he uses on the show. What i love about this guide kzbin.infoUgkxKkYeOoCV_w2vPX0CSyVWkhew2c4FYk0d is that you don' need to read the whole book cover to cover ... You can skip to the chapter (lesson) you want to read about. The book is arranged almost as a problem-solving guide ... Here is the problem and here is what you need to know/do to correct it. This man knows his stuff ... But more importantly knows how to teach people how they can work with their pups themselves!

Your training isn’t magic, it real! I appreciate that. I have a brindle feral dog that adopted me, when she was a few months old & I’ve invested a lot of time with her, & no matter how much time I invest in her, she gives back much more than I invest in her. I realized recently that having a treat your dog really likes is super important. I happened upon this recipe and my dogs go CRAZY for it. It makes a ton of treats and is super easy and quick to make. 1 tin sardines in water, add whole can, don’t drain it (I used a can of Atlantic salmon because that’s what I had) 1 package liver (chicken, cow, lamb, whatever, doesn’t matter) or tuna if you wanna do a fish version, I used tuna because I didn’t have liver. 2-3 eggs 2 cups flour 1/4 cup ground flax seed Blend everything together in your blender/food processor until it gets to a thick, gluey consistency. If it’s too runny, add a bit more flour. Too thick, add another egg. Spread onto parchment-lined baking sheets (I used 3) and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Flip over onto a cutting board and cut into small pieces with a pizza cutter. Divide into plastic bags and keep one in the fridge for use, keep the rest in the freezer until the ones in the fridge run out. Hope this is helpful for someone! 😊

I love the directness "bad trainer, then you SHOULDN'T have a dog" Having a dog isn't just something you do. It's something you have to instill into your everyday. I made the mistake of getting too many dogs, and I was in a bad place. I shouldn' have gotten the dogs. Now I'm prepared and I realized I needed to make the changes. It wasn't their fault the things they did that annoyed me to no end. I wasn't a good trainer spending the necessary time with them. Now I am and they've become so much better. Because I made the necessary changes in my life.

RANDOM COMMEMT AGAIN. Today is about 300th rep out of 1000. I do left and right FOCUSED heel at the same time. Started to fade out the lure. Right heel doing amazing, left a little worse than the right but she'll get there (she's six months old btw). The one thing I learned about dog training; The more reps you do, the better they become. Our 13 week lab works enthusiastically for single kibbles! We did free walking on our mountain property for 2 weeks with lots of recall for name recognition. I know this was old, but i was wondering how exactly service dogs work? I want to get my pup “registered” but everyone i’ve talked to said registration websites aren’t real registration. Is there paperwork that needs to be done through a PCP? Or if the dog is tasked trained (even non specific, she would mostly be anxiety but i have issues with dissociating while walking and talking, along with a few other things mental and physical) enough for the dog to be considered a service dog?

I had a German shepherd pup long time ago. I joined an obedience training program when he about 9 month old, I did about 8 sessions in the evening but then I was transferred to afternoon shift which meant I can't take for training but i was surprised because what he learnt in 8 session stayed with fir life and I was able to walk him on my left even without a leash, he was an amazing smart dog

My family’s had a 2-3 year old golden(?)doodle rescue for a little over a month and a half now. She wasn’t even potty trained when we got her (though the shelter told us she was - and that she was 5 and healthy, neither of which were true). Now she’s potty trained, and knows “sit” and “down” (both with hand commands and verbal). Currently working on a recall command and heeling. I’ve never trained a dog before, beyond teaching our 10ish year old dog “stay” back when I was 11 or so, so it’s been a bit of a learning curve here 😅 Videos like these are lifesavers, thank you!

But, I don’t have all the pocket things like you have. I love working with her-why I haven’t taken her to a trainer. I feel like I can do the basics. She very strong and I’m on 5 foot-she pulls me when she sees another dog, a car, a golf cart, or people walking down the street initially until I get her back to my left side. We don’t have a word yet-and honestly don’t know what word to use! I find myself saying NO a lot and that doesn’t work! I just came across your video with the basic healing training and I loved it. Thank you Andy for the tips . The wife and I was given a dog that wasn't worked with back in 2022 and she has made quite a bit of progress so far within this past year. I'm going to use the information that I got from watching your video on how to train to heel to get this one to get in the car and go for rides with us. I thank you so much.

I got a German Shepard malinois breed he's 9 months right now already very smart. I tried all of this in the video and he's learning at very quickly. I tried for about 15min and he was already catching on. He's gets really excited and isn't to gentle when it comes to taking the food out of my hand. Maybe cause I was trying with crushed up dog biscuits lol.

I got my families dog to walk right next to me on the leash in 2 sessions with no treats at all, however she was a well trained hunting dog so I was very lucky in that aspect.

One ❤ man, you tell it like it is . I was lucky my Malinois was military trained so we have our sh** wired tight but I do intend to get another one, couldn't be without one now , we were kind of thrust together through circumstance and it was the best thing to ever happen to me dog wise. I've always had dogs in my life but shepherd dogs are a different situation entirely, smart and sharp as a razor . I've never felt so safe in all my life. We both sit and watch your channel, me and the boy and we love it !. No messing, uncomplicated, bang on the money. Cheers from 🇬🇧

I loved your intro!! KZbin trainer holding a sign >> "I will train your dog for free!", shows only the quick fix, it's the "instant fix" philosophy behind these click-bait titles. You're awesome Andy, very few so-called TY "trainers" teach luring as a foundation. A dog can be restarted using luring at any age, many people adopt adult dogs from shelters and these dogs go home with very little training or often improper training. I use a Halti like you use prong collars, Fritz knows he's working when it comes out. Dogs can and do pull while wearing either a Halti or prong, while it's not a hold on for dear life type pulling as with a flat collar, the problem is still there, people use them as a quick fix.

Hi ,Andy, I am going to pick up my 4 months old buddy this week . I have had 9 dogs since 1975 , when i was in university. I have the love and passion of keeping at least one dog to be my companion . At one point , I joined a dog training class in the basement of a church, our tutor taught us how to do obedient training in a 2 hour period. I was surprised there are a lot of people who r dog show participants. Their dogs r so beautiful and calm. So I told myself one day I wanted to start a similar free obedient class to benefit all dog lovers . As time goes by , here comes the internet, now there r more professional trainers like yourself devoted to people like me . I have been watching ur enthusiasm towards the training, u went through every little detail , however I love to watch it 3 to 4 times to make sure the new and better ways to successfully train my new mixed Malinois. The father is a 80 lbs German Sheppard and the mother is 60 lbs brindle Malinois, looks pure bred. I heard it is getting popular for a mix of the 2 breeds. However, I gave 120% to any of my 9 dogs , the breed is not very important to me . I watched a lot of videos from different trainers but most of them eventually would like u to contribute to their special videos. I perfectly understand the reasons, but if u have the hearts to demonstrate to other dog lovers the right methods to look after the dogs, would u be a happier person that u wanted to share ur expertise now than later on tell them READ the fine line if u wanted better stuffs ,what he is implying what u watched earlier r rubbish. 😂 I am sorry to split out the new ways of life to make a living , however it is also very important not everyone can afford things in life . With the technologies going extremely fast, we will be pretty soon have bionic doggy, then no headache , and all dog trainers have to go back their original job. 😂 Nevertheless, at the moment we should do things with passion not trying a way to make a few more bucks. U want fast money , sell everything and show up in casio , u might have a few more millions in 1 minute. Andy , I love ur honest videos and ur lovely house 👍. These are the reasons I wanted to challenge myself to take yours and apply to my new dog . I am in Toronto , otherwise I wanted to join ur training classes , it is more practical to learn face to face as u can correct it right away and this is why we have to support u with the training fees . Thank you

We have 2 GS, they’re 4 months old. One black, the other blk and tan. Their ears have begun to stand up. Anyway, they already know the “sit” command, the blk one knows how to shake hands, ha. Shepherds learn soo quickly, it’s quite amazing. This looks like a good training tip for healing, I’ll definitely try it.
